Chapter 7

I saw Stark Tower in the distance as I walked the streets of New York. Loki had to be in there like Steve and Tony had said he wanted a show. When I walked in the front doors it was eerily quiet. No one was in the lobby and it was silent as the elevator door rang opening its doors. I got in thinking of the last time I had been here with Coulson to recruit Tony. The door opened on the penthouse floor and it was empty. I took a step in and was suddenly blasted to the floor. I got up quickly looking around for Loki.

"I knew you wouldn't be able to stay away," Loki chuckled but I couldn't see him anywhere, "I see the rage in your eyes. Are you mad I killed your pathetic friend?"

"Come out Loki," I said threateningly.

"Oh and ruin all the fun? I know you aren't going to last long. You'll let the rage overtake you and you won't be able to control. I'd really like to see that," he taunted.

I walked further into the room looking around as his voice rang through my head, "I can control it."

"That's what you think," he said but this time it was closer.

I turned around swinging my fist in the air as he caught it.

"I wouldn't try anything," he grinned.

Loki lifted his scepter and I turned to move but he brought it down on my heart and everything went black and suddenly it seemed like I was just an observer. I was no longer in control of anything, it was like I was trapped in my own mind.

"Why don't you go wait in the other room?" Loki suggested.

"Yes sir," I nodded leaving the room. I tried to keep from leaving but nothing worked. This is what he must have done to Clint and Dr. Selvig. Suddenly there was another voice in the other room. I listened and recognized Tony's voice.

"Uh...actually, I'm planning to threaten you," Tony said.

"You should have left your armor on for that," Loki answered.

They went on talking but I could only hear some of the conversation. I was mainly working on trying to fight against the scepter's trance.

"I have an army," I heard Loki threaten Tony.

"We have a hulk," he answered back.

"I thought the beast wandered off," Loki said, "Well either way I have leverage."

"There is no leverage," Tony answered back.

"Is that so? Adeline why don't you come out now," Loki called and my body got up quickly walking into the room.

Tony looked to me suddenly in fear. "Adeline, no! What are you doing?" He yelled. Loki grabbed his throat suddenly throwing him to the ground and I screamed but nothing came out, "JArvis, anytime now!" Tony gasped.

"You will all fall before me," Loki said holding Tony's face close to his as he grabbed him by the neck again and throwing him out the window. As Tony fell a red pod came flying out of the wall and out the window after Tony and he flied back up a few moments later.

"And there's one other person you pissed off! His name was Phil," Tony answered before blasting Loki to the ground.

There's a blast from on top of the building and I know now that the portal had opened. Tony left flying to the sky.

"Adeline!" Loki yelled and I walked towards him helping him up.

"Yes, sir?" I asked in a monotone voice.
