     Monday

Walking into a school before 8:00 am on a Monday morning was the most dreadful event that could possibly take place in Vanessa's week. Vanessa was an more than an average student. She was beyond an average student. Even though she made decent grades (in her eyes), she still hated attending her core classes. From Math to Science, she hated them both with a passion. Unlike the previous week she didn't lazily drag her body down the halls. From the events of yesterday she felt somewhat awake. She wasn't completely there but she was there.
Her hair was in a sloppy topknot and her makeup was simple. She had on BB Cream, a little bit on mascara and winged eyeliner. Along with that, she slightly filled in her eyebrows. A pair of distressed high waisted jeans that cuffed at the ankle covered up her thin, tan legs. Her upper body was covered with a white scoop neck long sleeve tee. Her wrist held a gold watch while her ankle held a blue rope twist anklet. On her feet she wore a pair of original Superstar Adidas.

First block was beyond dead. A room filled with students who had signed up were so life full yet seemed so lifeless. Typically, first block was considered to be homeroom or a study hall. While walking towards her locker she glared down the hall, staring at the room of her first block. Sighing, she entered her combination and opened her locker and pulled out the typical supplies she would need; her binders, books, a few pens, and her water bottle. After grabbing her materials she shut her locker. Unlike the previous time, Ryan wasn't waiting behind it.

There he sat typing away on his iPhone. His hazel brown orbs burned into the device and his jaws seemed as if they we locked up, making it his jawline appear more defined. For a moment, Vanessa took in his features once again. Upon his head rested a snapback that was turned around, covering his brownish blonde hair. He wore an olive colored bomber jacket that covered his black V-neck which seemed to match his olive camo joggers. Tucking a lose strand of her hair behind her ear, she began to walk over.

   "Guitar boy." Vanessa greeted.

"Van." Justin responded, recognizing the familiar voice and nickname. He looked up from his phone with a cheeky smile. Vanessa returned the smile as she tucked a lose strand of her hair behind her ear.

"May I?" She questioned, eyeing the spot beside him.

"Suit yourself." He responded, pressing the home button of his phone and scooting over the slightest bit. Nodding, Vanessa plopped down, taking in the view of the lawn area were many students ate outside. Even though there was an indoor cafeteria, most upperclassmen preferred to get some fresh air.

"Nice tattoo." Vanessa chirped. Even though she hadn't known Justin like that, she believed she would've noticed whether or not he had a tattoo. She'd basically been under his wing after one of the previous parties at Dwayne's. One of his hands lightly brushed against his neck which held the tattoo and he smiled slightly.

   "Staring hard today, are we?"

   "Psh..no." Van chuckled.

" If you say so. I'm sorry about the other night. I didn't mean to ditch you. I never really had the chance to apologize for that."

"Out of all the things you choose to apologize for you chose that?"

"I stated that I wasn't going to apologize for that."

"It was rude." She stated, pressing herself deeper into the conversation.

"You needed to hear it." Justin shrugged , slightly turning his head towards her.

   "I was perfectly fine."

"Were you?" He questioned , his eyebrows furrowed. Vanessa stared into his eyes for a moment, realizing that he genuinely cared in some shape or form even though he didn't really know her.

"I guess not." She whispered. Justin shook his head in disbelief.

"Well.."

"I can stop. I don't need another drink. Like you said before, I don't need one." She said, after a moment. Van hated to disappoint anyone, even if it was someone who didn't seem to know her at all.

"Honestly," Justin said standing up. "I'm sure you can. I just wish I met you before, when you actually didn't need one." He smiled slightly and walked away.
