Knowing very much and being the greatest detective that has solved more cases than anyone before, this title comes big responsibility. Many already know this, and so does the man himself. This man, in fact, is known as L. Nothing more than a simple letter.

Then how does this letter become such an important character? You see, this 'L' has to do the best of his ability to solve any case. This case, in fact, is the biggest case that would bring him to his death if he didn't play his cards right.

L's enemy, known as 'Kira' (or killer), is face-to-face with him. So, as you can see, being that close would be easy for a super genius to catch the culprit, right? Of course! If only his enemy wasn't was working by his side.

What a hand full, yes? Now, take that scenario and add a very pretty girl named Misa into the scene. Misa is famous for her modeling industry and movie career and is in love with Kira himself. Then she meets L, and things begin to change. Her love for the killer is strong, yet her mind can be easily manipulated.

This is sure doing to be an interesting story!

It all started with a simple notebook, yet I'm sure most of you reading this right now know very well of that instance and all the characters involved. So, lets skip forward. Now we meet up with the gang in their free time. This will involve many new obstacles and scenes as most of my fellow readers are familiar with everything already.

L sat in his dark room, hunched over his computer screen with a finger to his bottom lip. Small, soft flakes of snow danced in the freezing breeze outside the frost-covered window of the detective's home. Light mutters came from the man as he researched his findings on the Kira case. Many papers scatered across the chilled wood floor as pin points and tacs left holes and held up photos on his otherwise plain white wall. Who was the culprit? Light was definitely on the list of suspicion, yet he had not uncovered enough evidence for his case. Misa was on L's mental track record too.

"How disappointing; I'm running out of cake, and the snow is turning into a violent storm outside..."

L sighed, and slowly raised himself from his position to stretch and crack his joints. He carefully stepped over his own mess he had created and went to his rather small, empty kitchen. Besides the random pages of print laying around, the house would be considered empty and inhabited by common passers. This was perfect for keeping undetected.

A quite large refrigerator leaned against the wall with a dozen eggs, a half-eaten chocolate bar, and a few water bottles inside. L opened the machine and gathered the stuff, placing them on the marble counter top in the middle of the kitchen. Then, he opened a drawer in the back, holding all his goodies: cake, cookies, marshmallows, strawberries, and bananas. He stretched his arm and stole three strawberries and one piece of cheese cake to sit back down with. Cautiously making his way back to the soft glow of his laptop, he settled down once more.

Not a moment later, his phone vibrated on the floor next to him. L's attention was drawn to the object and he answered the call, holding the phone with only two fingers in the air next to his ear.

"Hello?" L questioned.

"It's Watari, L. I called to have you go to sleep. You'll need your energy."

"And why so?" L spooned a piece of cake into his mouth.

"If anyone around us sees that you're tiered, they'll see you as an easy target."

"Yes, indeed so. Yet Kira doesn't know my name."

"And? Kira will try to pry it from you. If you're sleepy, then unnecessary things may slip from your mouth."

"I guess so... I will go to sleep. Thank you for your concern, Watari."

The phone call ended.

With that, L finished his sweets and cleaned up his plates. Then he made his way to his bedroom. The wooden flooring suddenly stopped and turned into soft, gray colored carpet. A small bed was against the wall with two end tables on each side. A small lamp sat on one of the tables. L slowly pulled himself in bed and lifted the covers over his body, not bothering to change his clothes.

His eyes closed, and, soon sleep took over.

The frosty chill from outside filled the small apartment as L trudged into his kitchen
