Prologue
"I'm sorry.."
My blood ran cold as I watch her take another step back.
Umiling ako. Marahas ang mga naging sunod na paghinga habang tanaw ang kaniyang maamong mukha na nababahiran na ng luha.
"Let's talk this out. What's wrong, baby?" nanginig ang boses ko sa takot.
Another step and I almost fell on my knees. She was just standing there, watching me mercilessly.
"Wa-Wala na tayong dapat na pag-usapan pa."
And it broke me as I listen to her lies. Gusto niyang makipag-usap ngunit bakit hindi niya ginagawa?
Bigo ang puso ko, wasak na wasak at hindi na magawang ayusin pa. Gusto ko lang naman na mag-usap kami... hindi 'yong ganito... na pareho kaming nahihirapan.
"Marami tayong dapat na pag-usapan, Yan... m-may lead na-"
Mula sa maamong mukha ay tiningnan niya ako na tila nasusuklam siya sa'kin. At bawat tingin niyang iyon ang dumurog sa natitira kong pagkatao.
"I don't need your power nor your money! I don't need your sympathy! Hindi ko alam kung paanong nakatagal ako ng ganito sa'yo! Ang gusto ko lang ay lubayan mo ako. Let me be on my own. Let me have my life back where you never really existed!"
But I know she hates her life before me... before us... nakita ko ang paghihirap at pagdurusa niya. Bakit ganito? Bakit gusto niya ulit bumalik sa dating buhay niya?
Ng wala ako...
Tang ina! Bakit ang sakit?
"Walang engagement na magaganap, Hugo. Wala." umiling siya at mabilis akong tinalikuran.
