I woke up to a bright light shining in my face.

i thought to myself. This is the first time i found myself like this. I'm 14, and chained to a bed in the lab where two scientists, a man and a woman who took the last name of shelby, took me after adopting me from a orphanage. I don't quite understand why they adopted me. I wasnt the youngest and I wasn't the oldest either. I had already been told about their procedures, what they do to the kids they adopt. And I was the "most special" one and possibly the last kid if everything works out and I don't..... die at the least.
