"When Cain was banished from his land, his hatred towards God amplified. Later on, he met the snake that had tempted his mother. The devil, sharing his hatred, offered to make a contract. Knowing about the woman Cain had fallen for, he conjured a plan that would strengthen the contract and corrupt God's creation. The Devil and Cain made her immortal and dependent on the blood of God's creation. Before Cain died, he became more and more corrupt, turning three different women into such creatures who'd later be the first born of the Royal bloodlines. The Just, The Ruthless, and The Wise. The Ravene, The Adamo, and The Toset."

With that he closed his eyes, taking in the bittersweet memories. He parted his lips and looked at me.

"Katriane Adele Ravene, daughter of the first-born Darya Ravene and her mate, Elias Ravene. Rise."

I stood up proudly in front of the golden thrones. My mother and father sitting with full authority. My golden eyes glowing and my chocolate hair cascading my back. I bowed at my parents, then at my uncle.

"My Uncle. The powerful hybrid named after the angel. I stand before you."

He looked at me so proud. His eyes were of a cat, showing his hybrid features. His hair, black as coal. Tall and built. He was a great Ravene.

"Here and now dear, before your family. Do you vow to protect, to withstand, and to master, the Ravene name and all the powers it beholds?"

I looked at my family. I've been waiting for this my whole life. I glanced back to see the whole palace full of all the people who loved me. This was my time.

"I do so vow to protect, to withstand, and to master, the Ravene name and all the powers it beholds."

"I, Raziel Ravene, the powerful hybrid named after the angel, declare you a full grown Ravene, worthy of it's name. May your powers reveal themselves and may you grow strong enough to bear them."

Everyone clapped and the palace was overjoyed. I took a glance to see my best friend, Mihrrunissa. But she was gone.

After hearing my best friend I calmed down considerably. Mihrunissa had her vows held last year at the Toset palace and she has been discovering her powers ever since. Mind-link was a very useful gift.

"Mihr, you left?"

"Sorry Kat. Rosa needed me, but I stayed until the end of your vows so don't worry."

Now I sighed.

"Is everyone alright?"

"Oh yeah, no biggie. You know she wanted to go."

I chuckled. Of course she wanted to go.

"Don't worry. I'll set her up with Raziel."

"That's my girl! Hey, Kat gotta go. Dionel's here."

"Say hi for me."

I could see her pout on my mind.

"Oh come on! No kiss?"

"No, Mirh. No kiss for Dionel."

"Ugh, bye!"

Mihr ended the connection and almost died of a heart attack when I looked back. He, naturally, grinned.

"So, you're setting me up with Rosalina Toset."

"I swear if you ever do that again I'm going to kill you! How long have you been eavesdropping on me?"

He shrugged.

"Long enough."

I sighed dramatically.

"Leave Raziel."

"Your parents are looking for you. Oh and about you and Dionel..."

"Leave Raziel!"

He laughed and left. I rubbed my temples and looked outside the window. This was going to be my responsibility someday. The weight of being a Ravene. Then I heard it again.

"I see you, young Ravene."
