My Side of The Hill
Chapter 1, Tom
Tom's P.O.V.
It was a sunny Sunday morning, the ground was wet due to the cold and clammy dew. Every Sunday morning I like to take a long walk and check my rabbit snares and fish traps. So far I caught three rabbits and two large mouth bass. It really was a nice day. The sun was shining, the flowers were blooming, it finally felt like spring. Kind of makes me glad I left all those months ago. I left mostly because I was tired of city life, it was getting boring. Every day went the same way... Wake up at 7:30, eat breakfast, go to school, learn, come home, finish homework, watch TV, go to bed. And that was my life... Up to last December when I left home. Logan whimpered silently by my side. Logan's my dog, I've had him ever since I can remember, he's a chocolate lab, the biggest of the litter. We were walking to our small tree house, which was our makeshift home. I built it only a couple weeks ago because I couldn't find any good wood in December. All of a sudden, Logan stopped and pricked his big ears. I heard it too, and we froze.
Chapter 2, Bill
Bill's P.O.V.
I heard some kid was living in that old forest. It's not my fault we gotta cut it down. The realtor agencies would pay me handsomely to get rid of this old forest, take the trees, clear cut the land, yessir, it is gonna be great. We aren't too concerned about that kid, he's gonna leave eventually, and there won't be a problem. I just hope that kid doesn't do anything to screw us over, it took us years to get those bloody permits, and a lot of persuasion to those environmentalists. Standard stuff really, I've done it plenty of times, all it takes is some professional environmental goon to say it won't do no harm. After that you just pay the environmental do-gooders outa there.
Chapter 3 First Fall
Tom's P.O.V.
It was so subtle, I just saw this tree fall, and then more, and more, it was like watching a world collapse. Suddenly I realized Logan wasn't by my side, a few moments later I saw him running to and barking at this fat business man. Logan jumped on him, I was worried Logan would do something that would harm the man, s'pose I was wrong.
Chapter 4 Jumped
Bill's P.O.V.
That bliddy dog jumped on me, had I not have hit him on his side he would've torn my face off! Animals do nothing but make trouble. All they do sit there and make people feel sorry for 'em because they're just some helpless little things that do nothing.
Tom's P.O.V.
That fat man hit my dog! He just whacked Logan on the side of his head. I watched miserably as Logan staggered away. The Fat man got up and screamed "BLIDDY DOG!".
Logan was limping hurriedly back to me, I sprinted to pick him up. A few moments later we were sprinting to the nearest bush. I heard the fat man curse under his breath.
Chapter 5 Cut
Tom's P.O.V.
It was only yesterday that Logan jumped that man, I was sitting in our small tree house, stroking Logan's soft fur. He's improved, for now. But I still wanted to know more about what that fat man was planning on doing. And when. So I decided to do some spying. I was walking with Logan by my side, his soft fur was scrubbing against my ripped jeans. I followed the path of small campers and makeshift dirt roads when I found a big trailer. I went to the side and listened.
"Yes, so it is arranged then?" said an unfamiliar voice.
"Okay, we will talk tomorrow" Said a voice that sounded like the fat man.
