Marilyn

"How in the gods damned world did I get here?"
"Don't act ignorant Marilyn, now is not the time to be arrogant we have to careful" Sam said across the room, he of course was assigned to partner up with me. Him out of all the assassins in the Keep. Him. The reason I don't know, but I of course didn't particularly care. As long as I got what I wanted it was fine by me.
But I couldn't shake the feeling to look behind my back every time I turn around, he was always looking at me not with interest but with unyielding hunger to kill. He of course was a infamous assassin like me but never good enough, never lethal enough, never wicked like I was. Jealousy. Yup that was it.
Sam unfortunately never admitted it, but it was always clear in his golden eyes. He like me,was trained to be an assassin since we were children to become close protégées for our master. Until one day when I was 16, our master decided to make one of the many children his heir. Well let's say it ended in a bloodbath and if I remember correctly, it was the first time I got stabbed in the back and earned a whooping scar in my lower back. Those were the good days. But that ended fast, too fast actually because I became my master's heir and always had to look behind my back or sleep with one eye open just to make sure I make it to the next day."Why oh why are you sooooo wholly unbearable Sam, what did I do to cause such hatred from you?"I say in mock sadness. He growls at me and that's all I get from him, really he's such a disappointment when it comes to do missions.
We were sent to do some "corrections" in the south by our master but this was a sort of "special" mission since we are waiting in a small room in a ship, in the middle of the sea. Besides the fact that I was wearing black cloak and a mask, which made my body a hundred degrees hotter, it was beautiful outside. Threw the small window on my left, all I could see was a beautiful shade of green mixed with blue sea, that stretched for hundreds of miles.
It was a shame that I was stuck here with my partner waiting for the Pirate Lord. If. He could get his lazy bum out of his private courters.
To make myself useful I pace around the room scanning for anything to distract me,the room was so small that it could fit 10 people, altogether none of the miscellaneous items scattered on the desk that sat in the corner, looked interesting. Sam who sat in a worn out love seat beside the desk, was picking the dirt under his nails with a hunting knife looked amused now that he sensed my irration. I stop my pacing in front of him, he pauses and looks up, I narrow my eyes "Get that smirk off your face," I wouldn't be made fun of right now,"Or, what?" He challenges me, the smirk spreading into a grin, my hands itch to grab  the dagger
under my cloak and drive it deep in his hazel eyes. But instead I grab his chin with my left hand , with my fast movements and with my other hand I pretend to grab my dagger, he reacts and
