*Billie Joe's POV*
I had just got off the phone with Mike. Great. We just lost our damn drummer. I stood in my moms kitchen standing next to the phone as I debated over what to do now. I didn't want to give up on this whole band thing. Hey, we were pretty good, just we had to play a lot at my moms work, but that's okay.I made my way to my room and shut the door behind me. Speaking of mom, she was working late tonight. Good. And me, being the youngest, I was all by my self. My room was pretty small, the floor was mostly covered in dirty clothes and magazines. I picked up my guitar that was on my bed and plugged it into the amp. As I messed around in it, creating random songs, I thought about our drummer.
I hated the fact that he just left. Ugh, maybe I should talk to him. Awhile passed, I think it was an hour or so, and by then I knew I had to talk him out of leaving. I made my way back down the stairs and into the kitchen where our only phone was, and dialed his number.
The phone rang for quite some time before someone on the other end answered.
"Hello?"
"uh, hey it's Billie Joe, is John around?"
There was a pause, then I could make out someone calling to the drummer.
"Hey, Billie." Said a new voice
"Dude, why did you say you're leaving Green Day?"
"ah.. It's just that," he paused, "to be honest, I just don't want to be on TV, or the cover of magazines or be recognized by ever person on the street. Billie, don't get me wrong, it was fun when we first started out but now..."
"Yeah, I get it," I said, "you don't have to stay,"
"I bet you'll find someone better anyway. Well, Bill, I gotta go or my dad'll kill me,"
I said goodbye and hung up. Well, I guess this means we should start looking. Damn John, I knew he'd ditch.
