"Kaci don't go." Robbie spoke in a soft but hushed tone so mama wouldn't hear them arguing over this again. Mama always said that boy Kaci liked was nothing but trouble, unfortunately she was right. Begging her sister not to leave and to stay home with her that night. "Robbie, I'll be fine." Kaci said. After that, Robbie heard the car leave the driveway.
~~~~~~~~~~~~ 3 hours later~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Mama, there is an officer at the door." Robbie said confused and worried. Wondering what is going on and why an officer was at the door this time. "Yes, officer?" Mama said. "Is this the Mayleah residents?" Officer Brown asked. "Yes, why? What's wrong?" Mama asked concerned, with a sense of fear in the undertone of her voice. "Kaci Mayleah was shot and she didn't make it." Officer Brown said
"Robbie, did Kaci go to see Jacob?" Mama asked with tears in her eyes and sadness that took over her face. "Mama, I tried to stop her, but she took the car and left." Robbie spoke in a tone she didn't understand. "How do I go on with her gone?" Robbie thought to herself. "Miss there was a note left for Robin Joe, does she live here?" Officer Brown said. "Yeah, that's me." Robbie said. The officer gave Robbie that note, and she read it.
"Robbie,
I am sorry I didn't hear what you were saying. It's not your fault nor is it Ma's. I would like to let you know that I may be dead, but I'm still here. I'm at the park on my swing. It moves without any wind, that's where I am. When you come say my name, and just listen.
Always your sister
~Kaci Lynna~"
"Mama, I'm going to Rover Park to see Kaci." Robbie yelled as she took Jace's car" Robbie said As Robbie drove, she thought about all the fun they had at the park. All the time they went there when Mama and Daddy were fighting, as those time faded Kaci started dating and wearing bra's and doing all the stuff Robbie wanted to do. Soon Kaci and Jacob started dating and they never left each other's side.
Robbie hated Jacob; he was always mean to her sister; He was just very mean. Robbie pulled up at the park and parked the car and yelled her sister's name.
Robbie looked over at the swings, there was one moving. Just one, no wind was blowing. She knew who it was; it was her sister. "Kaci is that you?" Robbie asked. Kaci's voice sounded so different to Robbie that day. She was there and that made Robbie happy. "Kaci, what happened that night?" Robbie asked
"Robbie you were right; Jacob was mad and me going over there saved his life but took mine. I got him to take the gun away from his head, but when he put it to mine, I knew I should of listen to you. But because I didn't, I saved his life." Kaci said. "You didn't have to die, why was he mad?" Robbie asked. "We broke up, and he was mad at me, and he just didn't want to live anymore." Kaci said.
"Kay, I really do miss you, even though we fought I did love you and I still do." Robbie said. "I love you to Robbie, but Mama need's you now, go be with her and Papa Ray." Kaci said. While Robbie was driving home, she remembers what Ray always said about rain "Rain is the angles pouring there love out on us hoping someone will let it sink in". Robbie loved Ray but she also loves her real dad and so did Kaci.
