I was awakened by the yelling of my mother and the fear of knowing what was coming next. I hurried out of my bed and dressed as fast as I could. I could already hear my mom's footsteps right outside of the door. As I am about to stand up off the floor I feel a force and stinging feeling as I fall back to the ground. I looked up and see my mom looking down at me with an evil smirk of appreciation of the mark she left on my face. I could feel tears fill my eyes but I never let them fall so I would not give her the satisfaction of the hurt she caused me. I hurry back up to my feet and rush to the restroom. "Yeah you better hurry you little bitch!" I hear her yell after me.

I quickly brushed my teeth and my hair. I can already feel my face starting to get swollen. After I finished cleaning up, I hurried to the kitchen to grab an apple and run out the door before my mom could confront me again. I did not want to get more of the aftermath of her binge drinking from last night. She has been like this ever since my dad left her and me a year ago. I remember having not to worry and run from her and not having to hide every night from her rage that the alcohol caused her. I really miss my dad but I still had that hatred towards him for leaving us. He had caused my mom so much sadness and hatred that she brought it out on the only person around, me.

I have learned to get used to her when she was like this and at first it was not easy but I learned not to annoy her or talk about dad. My life had also gone downhill ever since my dad left us. I had to change schools and have not been able to stay in touch with my friends. I haven't made any friends at my new school because of the fact that I had to seclude myself from everyone so that no one found out about the abuse going on at my home. Though I also did try to keep to myself because of the trust issues that I have manifested through out the year.

I was almost at school when I hear someone call me a stupid idiot and telling me to stop. I turn around and see a group of guys and girls from my school. I could already tell what they were about to do. So I make a break for it and start running as fast as I could. I can hear the pounding of feet behind me and I am just dreading the moment that they catch me. As I turn the corner on a street I trip and fall face first, I turn around and look up and can see them a few feet away from me.

I try getting up but it was already too late, I feel the aching on my side where they had just kicked me. They all just kept constantly  kicking me with enjoyment until I blacked out into nothingness, only remembering pure terror, pain, and hatred...

I wake up to a bright light and see nothing but white. I look around the room and see machines that are hooked up to me. No one is around.

"Hello? Is anyone there?"

The door then opens after a while and in comes a nurse. She looks at me with sorrowful eyes. I can feel my whole body sore from the beating. I could barely move. I just wanted to lay here forever and never move. I knew that if I go home then I would most likely get another beating from my mother. I don't know what to do...  Maybe if I left this town and just ran wherever my body will take me. Yeah that's what I am going to do, or at least try to do.
