Killian's point of view

I couldn't stop thinking of her bright emerald green eyes and her golden locks. She literally looked like a perfect angel. She was perfection with the way she rolls her eyes at my jokes and sarcasm or nudges me in a joking manner when we walk to class. Been a week since she came and I don't see her much but I've had to move my classes because 'I'm not trying but I should get better grades'. But when I go home... It changes...

I'm an orphan, my mum died when I was too young to remember, my dad abandoned me then my brother died from when he was shot when someone tried to steal. I was then in the orphanage going from foster home to foster home. As I grew older I started to not care and just do what I wanted. I was then adopted by Mr Gold. I hated the man and he hated me. His son didn't like me neither... Neal. He doesn't particularly like his dad and is just civil with me but we fight a lot and find ourselves visiting the principal's office very often.

"Jones! Did you even hear what I said?!" Mr Gold shouts making me jump and turn to look at his angry face.

"Ergh! I don't bloody well give a crap about Neal alright! And I was thinking!" I snap at him looking at him coldly.

"You are very lucky you're still here young man. I can easily kick you out!" he snarls.

"Go on then" I challenge but instead he hits me round the head. I grunt before looking at him.

"Don't push me Jones" growls before throwing me into the brick wall causing me to hit my head but I stay conscious as he giggles and turns around where I see a smirking Neal. I get up using the wall for support before slipping into my room. It's really not much. I have an old bed pushed up against the window, a desk in the corner piled up with drawings and other things and a large wardrobe towering in the other corner of the room by the door to my small on suite. I walk in and stumble into the bathroom looking into the mirror to find a large bruise forming across my cheek. I sigh before walking out and lying back on my bed. I close my eyes but open one when I hear the door open and a still smirking Neal sauntering into the small room.

"What is it?" I snap turning my head to face him.

"Just came to see how much of a coward you really are" he says mockingly.

"I don't bloody well give a shit. Now what is it you want?".

"Alright, I just came to, believe it or not, ask for advice" he says casually.

"Hah, you're hilarious maybe I should give you a brotherly hug to really celebrate" I scoff sarcastically before looking at the ceiling and I hear him storm out my room slamming the door behind him.

next day

I hear my alarm go off and slam my hand on the blasted thing before burying my face into the pillows.

"Jones. Up. Now" I hear Gold snarl at me from my doorway as I grumble and slowly leave the comfort of my bed. I walk to the bathroom to find a large bruise across my cheek. I sigh loudly before heading downstairs and grab a bowl of cereal. Once I'm finished I trudge upstairs and get changed pulling on black skinny jeans with a navy blue tee shirt and my black leather jacket before tucking my mothers anchor necklace down my top. I leave the house and jump into my car and wait for Neal. I tap the wheel with my fingers impatiently before I hear him slip into the passenger seat next to me.

"So dad said you're grounded and you can't go football practice" he smirks glancing at me as my grip on the wheel tightens, my knuckles turning white.

"I don't care he can shove it up his" I start but get cut off when I see a familiar girl with blonde curls bouncing behind her as she walks. I smile before turning into the car park. Neal hops out and jumps into school and goes to hang out with his mate as not many people like him on the team, they seem to prefer me. Anyways I decide to wait at the gate searching for those emerald green eyes. Her face lights up when she sees me and walks over to me smiling.

"Hey beautiful" I flirt but she just rolls her eyes and walks towards the school.

"So I was wondering... Are you coming to Neal's birthday party?" I ask as casually as I can. I haven't actually told her anything about Neal being my adopted brother in a way. He has a party every year and everyone goes so I hope I get to see her there to.

"Maybe, I'm not sure yet".

"That's alright love" I smile.

"I guess you're going then?" she smirks glancing at me as I hold the door for her.

"Aye". She looks at me skeptically and mumbles a 'thanks' as she walks through the door I was holding. We walk down the corridor when I see Zelena wink at me. I roll my eyes and carry on but she doesn't seem to understand I'm not interested in her, too bitchy.

"Killian!" she calls after me I cringe and slowly turn around as Emma does the same.

"Ew. What you doing walking around with some fucked up adopted kid? Like no one wanted her!" she smirks which makes my blood boil as I feel Emma tense next to me.

"Sorry lass but why you saying I'm fucked up 'cause I'm adopted?" I stare at her coldly.

"Y-you'rs adopted?" she stutters.

"Yeah, now if you'll excuse me I don't like talking to bitches like yehself" I say really casually before turning on my heel and walking down the corridor with Emma still walking next to me wearing a white tank top, dark jeans and her signature red leather jacket.

"You're an orphan?" she asks curiously. I turn my head to face her before nodding and looking at the ground, my family was always hard to talk about.

"What happened?" she asks softly. I return my gaze and look her in the eyes. I guess I could say I think.

"I...Um... My mum... She died when I was little and then my father just abandoned me and my brother... Liam" I smile at the memory of him before swallowing hard and continuing "But he... He died when someone tried to steal from him... Always so stubborn" I smile slightly "but they shot him and it was too late. I was then put into the system and went from place to place until I was adopted last year but I don't like it" I admit before looking at the ground. My eyes gloss over from unshed tears. I then feel small arms wrap around my torso. I look to see her face buried into my chest. I smile before burying my face into her hair as I feel a tear run down my cheek. She pulls back with a small smile and wipes away the stray tear.

"I get it" she whispers before letting go and we carry-on walking to our class joking and laughing.

end of school

I walk down to the gym to try to start practice but when I get there I'm told I'm not allowed.

"Why I haven't had any fights!" I argue.

"Your dad called and forbade it" coach looks sympathetically at me.

"He ain't my dad. I don't get the luxury of having one" I storm off and exit the school heading to me car when I see Emma leaning against it.

"I know you can't keep your eyes off me love but is there another reason your leaning against my car?" I ask with a smirk and raised eyebrow.

"Oh aren't you just full of yourself?" she asks sarcastically.

"You love it really Swan but what can I do for you?" I asked taking a step closer to her.

"I came to say I'm going to that party next week and was wondering if you wanted to go I mean you don't have to it was just a thought" she rambles on.

"Of course I would love. Want a ride home?" I smile. She nods her head as I slip into the car and she sits in the front seat. We drive to her house which wasn't too far laughing and talking.

"Thanks" she smiles before getting out the car and heading into her large house. I smile before driving back to where I lived.

I walk through the front door throwing my keys onto the side table.

"Ah so you got my message" Gold smirks at me.

"Yeah I bet your so bloody proud but you really should get off your high horse bloody son of a bitch" I snarl at him and go to make my way to my room when he hits me with his cane over my head and laughs as I fall to the floor blood running down my face. I growl before looking up at him not seeing the next swing of his cane hitting me on the side of the face more blood falling onto the cold floor. I then bolt to my room where I lay on my bed and don't move, my mind wandering over to a beautiful blonde.
