It all started when the bell rang at third period. I ran out as fast as I could to the football field and I ran right into Jason's arms as he pulled me closer to him. Jason is the captain of the football team and is a normal size height, yet I still had to be on my tip -toes just to be as tall as him. Jason is the "Prince" of the school; everybody loves him. He has good grades, is definitely a social person, and he's a role model to many students at Washington High School. Jason and I have been together since the 9th grade and this year we'll be graduating! All of a sudden Jason and I started to stroll through the school garden and we sat on a bench surrounded with yellow, pink, and red roses. Once I sat down on the bench, Jason stared into my green eyes and with a grin on his face, he asks me out to the Homecoming dance. I eventually said "yes" to Jason and was so excited about the dance, that I couldn't stop talking about the dance for hours. Suddenly in the middle of our conversation, my cell phone unexpectedly rings. As I answered my cell phone I hear my younger step – sister, Morgan screaming saying, "Come home, the oven is on fire." I immediately end the conversation with Jason, and literally run home as fast as I possibly could.

Once I got home, chaos seemed to be everywhere. After closing the door, I looked at the t.v. room and see Morgan sitting on our brand new white sofa eating cheese puffs, while the t.v. is on. As I walk down the hall of our home, I can smell Morgan's nail polish, along with the smell of cheese puffs. As I continue walking down the hall, I can hear my older step – sister; Mickey talking on the phone. As I peaked through her room, while standing by the door I see clothes, lying on her bed. Mickey, is the type of person who changes her clothes about at least three times a day. As I softly shut the door, I run down the hall and go straight to the kitchen, where I smell smoke. As I enter the smoking kitchen, I see my step – mother Desdemona using the fire extinguisher and ruining the kitchen. Once my step – mother sees me she says, "I called, and texted you to come home to make dinner, where were you"? I answered with "I had school, and talked to Jason afterschool". Desdemona then said, "well, if that boy asks you out to that dance, you can't go because you'll be cleaning this house". I then said, "that's not fair, I didn't do anything" Desdemona then interrupted her step – daughter, Hayden by saying, "and that's exactly why you can't go, is because you didn't do anything. You didn't clean the house like I told you too." Hayden then blurted out, "I hate you, and I can't wait to go to college." That night as Hayden went to bed she decided not to let her step – mother order her around anymore. The next morning Hayden went to school late for cleaning the house, going grocery shopping, doing homework and studying all before school. After school Hayden ran to the Homecoming game and had so much fun cheering and screaming for Jason, that she almost lost her voice. Then in the middle of the game Mickey, the oldest step – sister picked Hayden up from the game, before Hayden got to see the touchdown. Later that evening Mickey and Morgan went to the dance, meanwhile Hayden cleaned the floor, got on her knees and scrubbed every item till they smelled like Clorox cleaning solution. Hayden wore her favorite shoes, converse. She wore black converse with jeans and a t – shirt and scrubbed the floor, till the floor was shining like diamonds. Converse is her one thing she can't leave the house with – out, wearing. While Mickey and Morgan were dressed and ready for the dance, meanwhile Hayden cleaned till her death – bed. Mickey left the house wearing a silver, shiny one – shoulder blouse and a black pencil skirt with black high – heels. Morgan wore wedge – heels with black skinny leggings and a pink bubble – gum skirt along with a bright, eye – popping, light, sparkly, and blue shirt. Once my step – sisters' were at the dance, Desdemona left to go get a facial and a manicure and pedicure. While I was cleaning, the door - bell rang, so I opened the door and found Jason, staring at me. Jason stood there wearing black skinny jeans and a nice collared shirt and a blazer coat that made him look really sharp. The next thing I know, is that I find myself wearing a white sparkly dress that fits just perfect, (once was my biological mother's dress). A sparkly, and skin – tight, and strapless white dress. It seemed as if this whole scene was out of a movie, I could of sworn that I felt just like Cinderella. Jason then tapped on my door, I told him to come in. As Jason walked slowly towards me, I noticed he had a converse bag in his hands. Then I said, "Is that what I think it is"? Jason then said, "Its whatever you want it to be, " he said smiling as I watched him pull out a pair of pink converse shoes. Then I thanked him and just gave him a big hug. I just stopped and embraced this moment. Then we drove to the dance together! Once we arrived at the dance, we danced for five hours and talked, ate food, and then finally the moment we've been waiting for finally came. The slow dance is so breath taking that it just gave me goose – bumps, yet such a beautiful, starry, magical night. Soon the night came to an end and Jason took me home before my step – sister's or my step – mother came home. Sadly my step – mother scared me in my room when I came right to my bed. Desdemona told me I was grounded for a month for sneaking out of the house and not obeying her. I just ignored her and the next day after school I filed as a child in an abusive home, for not being able to live my life as a teenager. I needed to be a child for once in my life; instead of taking on hard adult roles.
