It was a sad day... The day Black Star passed. The forecast said "sunny", but still the rain fell. It draped the land in melancholy hues of blue and gray, misting the hard ground and air. Everything seemed at a stand still, as though time itself had stopped.
On the night of the funeral the sky was clear. A swift breeze lifted the damp leafs, sending them swirling through the stale air only to tumble back down. Everything seemed so calm and at rest, even the stars. They twinkled and glowed in the silent darkness.
"If the dark sky is me, then the sparkling stars are Tsubaki."
Those innocent words echoed in the wind, sending chills through my body. As I gazed up at the atmosphere I noticed one particularly bright star that seemed to outshine all the others. I think... I think that was when I knew everything would be alright. That wherever Black Star was, he was a bigger star than he ever could have been on Earth.
