Why did sadness take over?

It all happend

A young girl named Lily was around the age of twelve when she heard that she was moving to a different continent.Lily told her best friend Daniel that she was moving. Lily's mother said that Daniel's family was moving with them. They got all their stuff packed and set off. But when they got there a war had started. Lily her mother and Daniel did not know what to do. Soldiers broke into their new house. Daniel almost had a heart attack. The soldiers spoke in a different language than them. They could hear the screams of young children.
Guns started shooting and bullets went everywhere. Screams and cries of family members were heard for miles.A bullet flung threw the window and shot Daniel's father. Daniel fell to the ground in sadness. Lily got Daniel back to his feet and they looked threw the kitchen window. They saw dead men and women everywhere. Lily's mother took her and Daniel to the basement. The gun shots finally stopped almost everyone was dead. They were one of the few alive. It was hard to survive. By the time lily was sixteen her mother died. Lily and Daniel
were alone. They had to travel back to America all by themselves. They took a  small boat they found and headed off. They were both sure they would not make it. It took months and months just to get to a stranded island. They caught fish and drank
ocean water. Daniel grew sick and soon died. Lily realized she was dreaming
