"Nighttime is my Time"

Lisa hated the fact that it was Friday night. Not that it wasn't her favorite night of the week, but this particular Friday night she would have to spend it house sitting for a couple who knew her parents"Lisa, time to go" her mother called. Lisa groaned as she grabbed the essentials she would need - purse, cell phone, iPod. She grabbed her favorite hoodie and headed downstairs. The whole ride there, Lisa listened to the usual list of rules her parents came up with whenever they weren't going to be there. Her mother and father layed down the usual "no boys", "one friend over", no "parties" type thing. The list was bigger this time, due to it not being her own house. They finally arrived at the house. It was a little bit in the country. Still somewhat close to town, but still enough to be considered "country".

"Does Norman Bates live here?" Lisa asked, sarcastically. She got out of the car, and grabbed her things. She kissed and her mom and dad goodbye and walked up to the house

Once she got inside, she saw that clearly these people had money. Even there remote controls on the coffee table looked like they would cost over $100.

Lisa read the note of the homeowners, The Reids, and decided to do what it said on the last line of the note - "Make yourself at home".

Lisa had decided to watch a movie. But midway through, she began to fall asleep. She put her headphones on, listening to her favorite band as she dosed off.

Around 9:00 p.m., Lisa awoke. As she did, she saw something that made her feel a little uneasy ...her iPod, while the headphone neatly wrapped around it, lying on the coffee table

(still want the story to continue? or is it boring?)

Lisa stared at her iPod for a moment. The same iPod that she feel asleep with was not resting on the coffee table. I probably just woke up and set it over there, she thought.

Lisa got up to get something to drink. When she returned, her phone rang. She answered.

"Hello?" Lisa said. Silence.

"Hello? Anyone there?" she asked. Suddenly, a female voice responded "Get out of my house!"

Click! The caller hung up. Lisa sat there, confused. The voice didn't sound old enough to be Mrs. Pearson and she knew that the Pearson's only child was a boy - in college, about four years older than Lisa. She checked the caller ID but it read restricted. Lisa shrugged. Probably some drunk girl or something. She decided to watch some TV.

She turned on the TV and to the news, where an ongoing news story was on about a girl who disappeared from her home a couple of years ago.

Suddenly, her phone rang again. She answered, and again the voice told her to leave the house.

"You have the wrong number, I'm supposed to be here." She hung up. Suddenly, Lisa received a text - a picture that made her blood run cold and made her heart stop...it was a picture of her on the couch on the phone in the house. Lisa's eyes darted to the where the view was from...the sliding glass door leading to the backyard. She walked cautiously towards it and flip the backyard light on. Nothing out there but a pool, a lawn...and a guest house.

Could the caller be in there? Lisa slid the glass door open and stepped outside. Lisa walked cautiously towards the guest house. She slowly wrapped her hand around the doorknob, turned it and opened the door to complete darkness. She scanned the wall with her til she found a switch. She turned on the lights. No one was in the guest house.

Lisa quickly made her way back to the house, locking the door behind her. She sat back down on the couch. She looked for her phone, it was nowhere to be found. I had right on the table, where is it she thought.

She grabbed the portable house phone. Dead. Panicking, Lisa searched for her phone all over the house. I just had it! she thought. She came back to the living room. She put her hands over her face. This isn't happening, this isn't happening, she told herself. Suddenly, she heard something...her phone.

It was coming from behind her. Lisa froze. She slowly turned around... Lisa slowly turned around to a sight that confused and terrified her

her phone...in the left hand of a girl...she'd seen her face before but where?...as she realized where she had seen the girl from, the girl took her right hand out from behind her back, revealing a knife

"I told you to leave my house". The girl lunged at Lisa. Lisa dodged and ran for her life. The girl, in hot pursuit, sliced through the air, getting closer and closer. The girl grabbed Lisa's hair and yanked her back

The girl stood over her, knife ready to strike. "Please, listen to me. I'm just house sitting for The Reids". Suddenly, the girls face changed from possessed to confused.

"My parents' last name is Pearson" she said.

"The Reids live here. Did your parents used to live here?" Lisa asked.

"What did you do to THEM???" the girl lunged again. Lisa slid away as the girl hit the hard wood floor, face first. Out cold.

Lisa grabbed her cell phone. And dialed 911. Outside of the house, Lisa sat in the back of open ambulence as an officer walked over. They watched as the girl was taken out on a stretcher

"Who was she?" Lisa asked

"Alice Pearson. History of mental problems. She ran away a couple years ago, back when her parents used to live here. They moved about a year ago."
