Both girls looked back at Hitoshi after his statement.
"G-Girlfriend...?" said Meguu, an awkward smile creeping on her face.
Maina then stepped up.
"Yes, human female," she said with pride. "I am his girl-friend."
"You sure talk funny," said Meguu with a smile.
"U-Um, yes, that's right," said Hitoshi shakily. "M-Mai-san and I are dating."
"I-I see," said Meguu, smiling at him. "You two look cute together."
"T-Thanks," replied Hitoshi, scratching his cheek.
"Dating?" said Maina curiously. "What is da--"
Hitoshi suddenly put his hand over the alien girl's mouth.
"Hehehehe," chuckled Hitoshi sheepishly. "Well I guess we better go now, Mai-san... See you later, Terashima-san...!"
He then took off running with Maina in hand as Meguu looked on curiously at the two.
"Unhand me, human," said Maina as she was being dragged away by Hitoshi into the main school building.
"You shouldn't even be here, Maina-san," said the boy, slowing down as they entered the building. "I told you to stay at the house."
"Do not presume to command me," she said as she wrested his hand off her wrist.
"Jeez, Maina-san," said a frustrated Hitoshi.
Maina then looked around the hallway they have stopped in.
"So this is school," she said.
"Yeah," said Hitoshi.
"It looks pretty drab," said Maina. "My father's palace back home is much more spacious, and even that I find drab."
"Then why did you come here?" said Hitoshi, slightly raising his voice. "And where did you get that uniform?"
"Well..." said the girl, "I entered a place where there were many metal cupboards and women's clothing lying around."
The girls' locker room, Hitoshi thought.
"So you stole them?!" he exclaimed.
"Well if you put it that way it sounds bad," said Maina calmly, crossing her arms.
"It is bad!" yelled Hitoshi.
"Calm yourself, human," said Maina with a wry smile.
Hitoshi scratched his head with both hands in frustration.
"Fine," he said, rubbing his nose and regaining his composure. "Since you're new to this planet, I'm gonna have to walk you through everything. I'll let this slide for now."
Maina looked back at him patiently.
"Right now, I'm looking for clubs to join," said Hitoshi. "You wanna come with me?"
"Hmm... Alright," said the girl. "I shall humor you."
Hitoshi then walked further down the hallway then up a flight of stairs, with Maina in tow.
"What is a 'club'?" she asked.
"Well," said Hitoshi, "it's an organization in school where like-minded people come together and share their ideas with one another."
"I see," said Maina, who suddenly became enthusiastic. "Is there a 'club' in this school composed of otherworldly beings like myself?"
"N-None that I know of," replied Hitoshi with a wry smile.
