A mechanical pencil dwindles between his digits, awaiting the school bell to ring so he can be released of the prison of a school. The bell rings after what feels like an eternity, and the teen leaves his seat to the paradise of his house. The boy trots out the door toward the grey locker just down the hall to take his homework binder home. He can feel three people looming over him like he he is a mere insect. and then suddenly one of them blurts out,
" Hey there sketcher."
The other boys nicknamed him that because he usually draws in class instead of doing work, hence his low grades. He also wears purple sketchers shoes everyday, explaining some of the mockery."Hey you, yeah you, Vulcan."
Vulcan turns around and looks at the bullies with boredom, "That nickname is getting really old now."
The main boy of the trio steps out and replies, "So? We find it amusing so you are going to have to put up with it."
Vulcan takes a deep breath, and flicks a strand of shaggy black hair out of his deep brown eyes. He then turns around without a word and stuffs his hands into the pocket of his pale blue hoodie and saunters away.

"Brother!"A small girl, no younger then 14 hurries excitedly towards Vulcan and says, "Are you ready to go home?"
Vulcan replies, "Yes, definitely, I just want to get out of this hell hole already." She points a finger at him and scolds,
" That's a bad word! Don't say that!"
Vulcan sighs and mumbles,"Sure, whatever you say Elara."
They begin their way back home while the girl joyfully skips along beside him while she hugs her books to her chest and hums.
"What are you so happy about?"Vulcan asks. "I got an A on my math test!" She grins ear to ear and asked Vulcan causally, "So what did you today?"
He scratches his head ponders for a moment until finally saying,
" Really, nothing. I usually draw instead of doing my work to be honest."Elara frowns and mentions, "Mom's making butter chicken for dinner."
Vulcan perks up slightly," Yum, it's been awhile since she made chicken." after a quiet 20 minutes of walking Elara opens the door to their tiny town home and exclaims unnecessarily loudly, "We're home!"The boy walks straight toward his room while his younger sister proceeds to rant about her much more exciting day. He sits down at his desk in his bedroom which was covered by drawings varying from people to landscapes to objects and sometimes random fantasy sketches. Vulcan takes out a clean piece of paper and starts to draft out the first basic lines of a male face. After a few minutes the base lines are drawn and they display what seems to be a boy holding a sphere or orb. Vulcan continues to define the lines and shade in the needed areas until after a little more than a hour, a portrait of himself holding a glowing orb of light is etched onto paper. The teen signs "Vulcan Sinohara" at the bottom of the page and staples it with the many dozens of pictures vastly spread across the room. He smiles at his work and he exits his room for dinner.
