Lynn came back shortly, giving me a small smile.
"I fogot to call my mom to tell her I was home." she said. "Never making that mistake again." I smiled, and she plopped down next to me, leaning all the way back so her head hung off the side of the bed. I did the same, and smiled at her.
She gave me a smile, and giggled as her blonde hair covered her face. She brushed it off to the side, and busted out laughing.
"Whats funny?" I asked. She stopped, and shrugged.
"It seemed dead in here." she said. "It needed some laughter." I smiled, and sat up as my mom walked in.
"Justin," my mom said. "How about you show Lynn around town." I looked at Lynn, and she smiled.
"I'd love that." she said, and stood. "I'll get my shoes." Before she left, and turned to me. "If you want to."
I nodded. "Go get your shoes on and we'll go." she smiled, and gave me a hug before running out the room. My mom crossed her arms, smiling.
"What?" I asked.
"You gonna kiss her?" she asked, her voice low enough so only I could hear.
"Am i what?" I asked, my eyes growing wide.
"You know..." my mom acted out two people making out.
"Ew gross." I said. "No. She's just a friend...and she might not like me like that."
"But you like her, right?" my mom asked.
I paused before answering, knowing she'd find out sooner or later. "Yea."
"Okay, then why not see if she likes you back." she asked.
"I would, but I'm not gonna kiss her." I said, walking out the room.
"Kiss who?" Lynn asked, sitting on the couch, shoes on and ready.
"No one. My mom's being a mom," I said, and walked towards the front door.
"Shall we?" I opened it wide for her, letting her exit before me.
"We shall." Lynn giggled, and took my hand in hers, tugging me outside with her.
"You want something to drink?" I asked as we walked into a McDonalds near the park. It was 9 o'clock, so the park was dark except for the street lights shinning around every corner, and some lanterns that were hanging from the trees.
"A sweet tea?" she asked.
"Sweet tea?" I asked. "You ever drink coke?" She made a face.
"Pepsi, dude." she said, correcting me. She moved infront of me, ordering her sweet tea, and then moving over so I could order.
Of course, I pull out my wallet so I could pay, but Lynn smiled, ad handed me a five.
"Whats this for?" I asked.
"My half." she giggled. "Your not paying for the whole thing. Save that money for a date."
I was hoping this was one. I thought silently, but slid the five over to the cashier, and paied the other half.
We took a seat at a table, and just talked, like we had been the whole time. I learned that Lynn was a total country girl. She had a small puppy named Dudley, and she loved him a lot.
And that she's been single her whole like.
"You've never had a boyfriend?" I asked. Lynn shook her head, taking a small sip of her drink.
"Never thought of having one really." she smiled. "In my group of friends, they bring drama."
Darn....I thought.
"But...if the guy I like..asks me out..." she sighs. "I may say yes."
Thats your chance...
WAIT! It might not be you. I thought again...
Just do it. I thought, and felt confident she'd say yes.
As I opened my mouth to ask, a bright flash blinded me. I covered my eyes until the light dimmed. Then more and more, as if i was surrounded by strob lights.
"Is this your girl?" someone asked.
"Are you cheating on Selena?"
"What's her name?"
"Give her a kiss!"
One yell after another, questions surrounded me. I looked at Lynn, who just looked at all the photographers.
"Come on." I grabbed Lynn's hand, which wasn't real smart.
The flashes flashed faster, and the sound of footsteps following me and Lynn as I ran out the door, and ducked into a dark alley, holding Lynn's mouth as the paparazzi passed by.
Lynn removed my hand and turned to look at me. "What was that?" she asked. She didn't seem mad...just shocked.
"Damn paparazzi." I muttered. "They seem to just pop outa no where."
Lynn nodded. "Yea..I was confused on why they were there.." she kicked a stone. "Then I remembered..I was hanging with you."
"whats that supposed to mean?" I questioned.
"Nothing bad..." she said. "It's just...your a big star..and I guess I forgot that..."
I wanted to ask what that ment, but we could hear footsteps walking towards us, so we ran to the apartment.
Bad ending...oh well. :)
