On the way to the lunchroom she couldn't help, but notice how much nicer  it was. Everyone seemed to be chatting amongst themselves, no running  and screaming, no makeout sessions and best of all...

"No pervy sucubi." She mumbled.

"What was that?" a smooth baritone voice called.

Startled, she whirled around, only to come face to face with a boy. The same one from this morning in fact.

"Oh hi." She mumbled lamely.

He smiled in return. "Hi darling, we meet again. Although, I don't  think we were properly introduced the first time. My names Liam, what  about you?"

"Oh um." Branwenn was so rattled by his presence she forgot her own name.

What was wrong with her? It was just some boy, no need to look like  one of those dumb succubus girls. Why did he have to be so gorgeous? Ok  all she had to do was answer his question. What was it again?

Her face burned with embarrassment when she asked. "Uh sorry what did you say?"

He only chuckled at her reply, before shaking his head. "I said, what is your name darling?"

Feeling absolutely foolish she started nervously rubbing her hands. "Oh my name is Branwenn, nice to meet you.

He looked contemplative for a moment before replying. "Branwenn, what a lovely name. It really suits you.

She didn't think her face could get any redder. What was it about this boy that affected her so?

Not really knowing what to say, but also not wanting to leave his  company so soon she blurted. "I'm going to the cafeteria, would you like  to come with me?"

Did she really just say that?

"I'd love to come, here, let me show you the way. Don't want you  getting lost on your first day." He smiled and offered her his arm.

The old fashioned gesture made her smile with delight and for once  she was glad she was directionally challenged. Taking his arm she  couldn't help, but notice how warm it was. Which was odd giving that he was an ice man, but maybe they weren't always cold? Shrugging it off she  decided to just enjoy the chance to be close to him. What were the odds  she would find such a gentlemen so soon?

They walked along in comfortable silence for a couple minutes before he asked.

"So I realize that it's none of my business, but what were you saying about incubi?" he asked curiously.

At first she didn't understand what he meant, but then she remembered her mumblings from earlier.

With a humorless laugh she said "Oh you caught that huh?"

He only quirked an eyebrow in question.

Heaving a heavy sigh she said "It was nothing I was just noticing  how different it was in a school that wasn't full of them that's all.

Something flickered in his eyes before he cocked his head to the side and asked. "So you don't like incubi?"

The question was innocent enough, but answering would bring up a  whole host of troublesome questions. However, she didn't want to put him off by seeming closed off.

"I'm just not into their kind of lifestyle that's all." She tried  to be flippant about the whole thing, but it came off a bit bitter.

He seemed to sense this as he quickly apologized. "I'm sorry. I didn't mean to be so nosy."
