Today is the day. It's been almost a month since the incident in the bathroom and I'm finally going home.
"Everything? You sure? 'Cause I didn't spend $200 on a retainer for you to leave it here. "
"My retainer! That's right, thanks dad." Katie ran upstairs and pulled her retainer out of her desk drawer. She took it out of the case and put it in her mouth, stuffing the case into her duffle bag. Katie had overfilled 2 suitcases, a duffle bag, and a backpack with 2 weeks worth of necessities. She had a great 2 weeks planned.
"We need to be leaving 20 minutes ago!" Katie's dad shouted from the bottom of the staircase sounding a bit hurried. Katie hopped down the stairs with a smile plastered onto her face.
"Okay, I'm ready. Letsth go."
"Letsth." Her dad mimicked her slur almost exactly, earning a glare from Katie.

By the time they reached her gate it was 5:36AM. She still had a good half hour until her plane started boarding, so she and her dad decided to pick up some breakfast at The Coffee Bean. Katie's hated this coffee shop since she took her first sip of their caramel latte. She much preferred Starbucks, or even Dunkin Donuts although she's only been there 2 times, once in Boston on a trip with her dad, and once on a layover from Arizona to Oahu.
"Now boarding flight D4 to California."
"That's me. Bye, Dad. I'll call you when I land. Don't forget to send out my boxes and I love you. Thank you thank you. Bye." Katie hurried over to her gate and turned back to face her dad.
"I love you." He mouthed, waving his hand. I love you too.
