Last night • Cody Christian

Chapter 5

I walk to the front of my house nervously. I rubbed my sweaty palms on the top of my jeans.

'I can't do this, I'm just gonna mess up my grades.'

I slot the key into the door and pushed it open. "Hey honey. How was Cody's?" I gave out a deep sigh and mumbled.

"Great, hey don't wait on me for dinner. I gotta do extra credit." I skipped to my bedroom like nothing happened.

The first thing i did when i got into  my bedroom was taking my notebook and a pen.

I start to write the first line down for the song.

"It's like, he doesnt hear a word i say. His mind is somewhere far away. And i don't know how to get there."

I read it over and over singing it differently everytime. Trying to find a melody for it.

I tap against the wooden try to think of the next few lines until I heard vague voice echoing from downstairs.

I stopped tapping as I heard footsteps coming closer and closer. After a few minutes later there was a knock on the door.

"I'm sorry."

Cody.

He looked down at his feet and stays silent. "Why are you here?" I gestured him to come in.

"Because I realised I was kind of a douche and I made you walk out of me." I rolled my eyes at the brunet.

"Well then, apology accepted I guess." He looks up and me with a big smile on his face. "Thanks, what are you writing?"

"Working on the song." I said, giving him my notebook so he could read it.

"Is this about me?" He asked, giving me my notebook back. "Like i mean the lyrics? That i don't listen to what you say?"

I looked at him, thinking if i should tell him. "Maybe, but hey. I have an idea like you should write some parts and i'll write some parts and we will put all the parts with eachother so it becomes a song?" I grinned.

"We already had to do that Hailee remember, the meaning of writing a song together is that we both have to come up with some lyrics." He laughed, oh yeah.

"I feel dumb right now" putting my head in my hands. Cody took my hand away from my face and bend down a little so he was on the same height as me.

"You're not dumb Hailee, but i have an idea. We can maybe make the song about the two of us because we mostly never listen to eachother. We can make it about that." I smiled,

"That's a really good idea Christian." Smirking when i said his last name.

I'm sorry for the long wait, but i hope you guys didn't delete this story from your library.

I have alot to do for school and yeah i don't have alo of time because school but i try to update as much as i can, i really enjoy writing this story.
