-Ezra's p.o.v.-
I ride on a ship with the twins. I don't want to sound upset, but I am. I just lost a good portion of my crew. Hera, Rex, Ashoka, Zeb, and.... Kanan. Due to me and Luke being force-sensitive, and the princess being a huge target, the rebellion thought it best to put us somewhere that didn't endanger the rest of the rebels.
As we come out of hyperspace, I see the planet of choice. Lothal. I sigh.
"You okay?" Luke asks.
"Fine. And plus, I'm in charge," I say with a smile.
"Why you?" Leia asks, joining the conversation.
"I'm two days older than you." I say with a cocky smile.
Luke punches me lightly in the arm. I smile a little wider. It helps, getting my mind off of Kanan. All of us have had our fair share of loss. My parents are on the run from the empire, and haven't even slowed down for me. Luke and Leia have lost their mother and their father, well is trying to kill all of us. Luke and my masters have died, plus many....many more.
The three of us are dropped off at my old home. Not the one that the empire destroyed when we first joined the rebellion, and Kanan got that shanzy storm trooper armor. But the rusting, unused communication tower I once called my home.
The three of us awkwardly stand in the lift until its doors open and reveal my dusty helmet collection. "Charming." I hear from a whiney man.
Leia punches him in the arm.
"Ow! What was that for?" He asks his sister.
She clears her throat and nods her head in my direction.
"Oh."
"Are you mocking me?" I asked.
"No." Luke answers slowly, dragging out the "o".
"Play nice." Leia says, "I'm tired, I'm taking a nap."
We both nod, "yes mom..." Luke says.
"You are such a child." I say, taking off my com-link and saber. I throw them on the chair. Luke does the same.
"I'm only a child, because I never was one when I was younger." He says in a straight tone, walking outside.
I follow. "Me neither."
"Have you ever used the dark side?" He asks out of the blue.
"Once. It was so cold, so foreign. You?"
"No. I was just wondering what it felt like. I just..."
"Assumed that I turned after Kanan." I say, completing the thought.
He stayed silent for a while, confirming the thought. "Do you think we should be fighting?"
"Some should," I answered slowly, "Us Jedi are peace keepers, not generals, like in the clone wars, or whatever we are now."
"I kind of feel like the Sith did in the clone wars." Luke says.
"What?"
"Back then, there was 10,000 Jedi, and 2 Sith against each other. Now, it's a few thousand inquisitors, against the two of us. Well, us two, and Yoda, but he can't fight anymore."
"I never thought about it that way. I guess..." I start.
"Shut up." Luke says putting a hand on my mouth.
I grunt and struggle until I turn around to see some storm troopers holding us at gun point.
"Where are your weapons?" The trooper asks us.
We look at each other. "Inside." Luke says.
I sigh and concentrate through the force, I say "Your sister?"
Luke shrugs, hearing my question.
To answer my question, I see the princess walking out with hands above her head. "Nice job." She says annoyed.
"I found two com links and one light saber," holding up Luke's saber.
We both shoot a look at Leia, as she raises my saber, and shoots the stun blast, hitting the trooper holding Luke's saber. He falls as both me and Luke pull our sabers to our hands. We don't ignite them due the appearance of a face I thought was dead. The person walked over to the three of us, and we stood in a line against the wall as the Sith handcuffed us and took us aboard the ship.
"You were a Jedi once," I say.
"Kanan Jerrus is dead child. Your father is dead. I am still your mother Ezra, but that doesn't mean I won't kill you."
"We have parental problems," Luke says, complaining....again.
"Yeah, well ours cut off your arm, Ezra's arm is already mechanical." Leia says.
"I could cut his legs off." Ezra's "mother" suggested.
"NO! No, no. We are not having a competition on who has worse parents." I say scared for my legs, and my sanity.
"Didn't Kanan cut off your arm?" Luke asks.
I wince as I flash back to the memory. We were running from the seventh sister, and she blast door started to close. I was the last to go through, and my arm got stuck in the closing door. The crew kept going, and I cried out. We couldn't stay, the killer was almost on us. Kanan had to cut off my arm...with his light saber. It hurt like hell. "Shut it." I say to Luke, ending the conversation.
I didn't know where we were going, but I didn't want to find out.
