After school, I went to the alleyway specified on the note, mostly because my "mother" wouldn't care, and I was curious. Once I found it, I noticed something. There was a shiny human-thing near the large blue box. I stepped a bit closer to inspect it. Bad move. Really bad move.  It instantly turned to look at me, and the door swooshed open. The Doctor reached for my hand and pulled me in, but I felt a zap. A zap that really hurt.

"Woah, what the hell is this? Why is this room bi-"

"Yeah, it's bigger on the inside. Blah blah. Are you okay?"

"It seems so. I mean, it felt like a taser."

"A taser? My companions never have been zapped before, but I'm pretty sure it hurts more than a taser."

"Companions?"

"Wow, you ask a lo-Kit, look."

"How do you know my name? Wait, WHAT?"

I was burning. Like, magically burning. Sort of like a crappy movie effect. It still hurt, though.

"Why aren't you doing anything?!"

"It's regeneration. I'll explain later. Just go with it."

I reluctantly did what I was told, just "going with it". The fire crawled up my limbs, eventually getting to my torso. It felt comforting and warm, almost like it was natural for me. It engulfed my head, and then it burnt out. I stood up carefully, feeling smaller. I couldn't feel my long hair, and it looked like I had bangs. Thankfully, I didn't change gender. My clothes were huge on me though.

"Uh, lil' help here?" My voice sounded a bit deeper.

"Uh, yeah. The TARDIS has a wardrobe of clothes picked out for you. It's down the hall and to v
the left."

"Nice, thanks."

I made my way to the closet, mostly because the magical voice I heard guided me. I chose a Panic! At the Disco shirt, which I don't know why it was in there. Maybe the Doctor liked P!ATD? I also chose some dark blue jeans and combat boots. There was a convenient body mirror in the room, and I looked at myself. I looked a little shorter, maybe 5'6 instead of 6'3. My hair was significantly shorter than it once was, only coming to the bottom of my ears. I had larger... you knows, and I was a bit paler than I was.

After my quick analysis of myself, I walked out to the main console where the Doctor was leaning on the chair.

"So, what was all that. The whole fire thing. Actually, I would like an explanation for everything."

"Well, there was once an ancient race called the timelords. There was a great time war, with an alien-robot race called the Daleks. The Daleks unfortunately won, and only one timelord escaped. Me. A few 1,000 years later, I regenerated to this form currently, and met a couple. They had a baby, which trust me, is a long story, and that baby was conceived in the TARDIS, which made her a half timelord. Long story again later, we married and had a timelord child. She wasn't safe in the TARDIS with all the adventures, so we left her in an adoption center. And that child, was you, Kit."

"Woah, that was a long explanation. Regeneration? Me?"

"You asked for it. Regeneration is a process in which a timelord, who is fatally wounded, regenerates themselves into a new form. And yes, I am your father. Too bad you weren't a boy. I could have named you Luke." He smirked. I let out a giggle.

"What about the buzzy thingy? If you and I are both timelords, do I get one?"

"Oh, yeah. What's your favorite color?" He asked. I wondered why he asked that.

"Purple, why?" The TARDIS, which I learned was called the TARDIS, made a noise and then a ding. Out popped a screwdriver-looking thing, with a purple dome at the top. The handle had a bunch of cool gears, and a rubber handle at the bottom. The button looked like a scanner, but it was purple tinted. The gears were silver tinted, and looked very steampunk-like.

"Well, take it! It's ready for you, and she based it on your interests."

"How did it- I mean, she know?"

"She connects to your mind."

I hesitantly pulled it out of the hole, and felt it. Then I popped it into my pocket, which seemed to go forever.

"Infinity pockets?"

"They're bigger on the inside." He smirked again.

"Wait, all my stuff is at the orphanage! I need to go grab it!"

"Oh, shoot." He totally forgot about that. And so did I.
