I've been hiding in the dark my whole life, and yet out in the open. Everyone knows my secrets and yet nobody knows them at all. I live in a town called Strake were everyone knows everyone. My room is a shack outside an old rusted warehouse that with one gust of wind would be nothing but dust.
I lived here until I was 5. Then my parents got divorced and I went to live with my mom in Florida. Now I am moving back to Maryland because my mom died a month ago. My father has lived here his whole life. It's fall now and it's cold.
The clouds are weeping rain and that's how I feel. Dashing to my shack I bolt trough the door and start crying. My life was turned upside-down when I became a new student Baldmort High. I've been noticing strange things since I got here. Yesterday I was taking a walk with my dad and the green seemed to follow us. Was there something my dad hadn't told me whatever it was I was confused. I wanted to know, I wanted to know now. Everyone said I was weird. They asked me what was wrong, but I didn't know either.
"Dad what's up, is there something wrong?" I asked.
"Well i yesterday I noticed something changing with you," he replied a little hesitantly.
I tried to lighten the mood by replying "Dad I'm 15 puberty's, been there done that."
"No, not that" he said laughing then he got serious and said "I wasn't sure if you were like me or not until i got this letter earlier today"
He slowly pulled a letter out of his pocket and handed it to me, on the envelope it said "To mrs.Sarah Balthwood." I started to rip the envelope when a paper flew out and floated in front of my face. "You have been excepted into Shion the school for hands. You will be present at the school on September 20th for dorm and class assignments. You will be assigned based on your specialty which will be showed to the whole class during the first dinner. Sincerely Professor Milter.
"Wha wha what was that?" I screamed in my fathers face, "what is my specialty what is all of this and if you knew about this why wouldn't you tell me that I have to be packed for a year to go to a school I just learned about TOMORROW."
"I know your confused, but i didn't tell you because i didn't know if you would have powers or not because your mother has none you might not have gotten them. Just wait it will all get explained soon. Now you should go to your room pack and go to sleep." he says calmly.
I've packed but how can i fall asleep when i just found out that I'm some type of magical being. i stare at the rusted metal roof for what seems like forever before falling asleep.
"Wake up and put your bags in the car we got to go," dad said
I get ready as quick as i can, i want some answers, then i grab my bags and rush to the car and my dad drives us to the airport. At the front desk he buys tickets to Missoula, Montana of all places. then its all normal till after lift off when my dad said go in the bathroom and flush the toilet three times. It been one weird thing after another so i just go along.
