"Boys!" Calum exclaims as he walks into the kitchen, where the other 3 members of his band sit, "it's song writing season!" He claps and sits down next to luke at the table, opposite him is Michael and Ashton.
Luke and Ashton are pretty happy about this, but Michael... Not so much. He lets out a groan. "I'm not feeling really inspired lately," he admits to the group.
"Just try!" Luke says excitedly, getting up out of his seat to look for his laptop.
"Yeah, just write about how you're not feeling inspired." Calum says with a smile on his face, wishing to help the situation. It doesn't.
The boys notice that Mikey frowns, and runs his fingers through his hair.
"Why aren't you feeling inspired? Is there a certain problem?" Ashton asks.
You can tell Michael thinks about it.
"Yeah, maybe. But don't worry about it." Michael stands up tall from the kitchen table and leaves the room.
"Write something please!" Calum yells to Michael as he walks off.
"Well," Ashton starts. He fiddles with his bandana. "We didn't even talk about the direction we want the band to go in." He frowns.
"How about you get on your practice drums and play around with some beats? Bring them out into the lounge room and I'll bring my acoustic." Luke smiles at Ashton as he walks around the table to give him a slap on the back. Ashton nods and stands up.
"I'll start putting something together, I've been writing down stuff these past few weeks." Calum finally adds.
---
Two hours later and the boys are on fire. Well - Ashton, Luke and Calum are. No word from Michael.
"Calum, I gotta admit, didn't really think you could improve with your lyrics. But God damn, you did, man." Ashton compliments Calum and the 3 boys laugh together.
Noise is heard from Michaels bedroom and before the boys could comment, he storms out with a sheet of paper and red eyes.
"Uh, Michael... Are yo-"
"I wrote lyrics."
"Okay, um... Let me look over them." Luke walks over to Michael, but he spins himself away from the tall boy.
"No. I want Ashton to sing it." Michael says sternly.
"Well, okay, but Luke is the lead singer." Ashton says kindly, walking over to Michael and wrapping his arm around his shoulder.
Luke gently brushes this off, thinking Ashton deserves a song to himself.
Calum coughs in the background, noticing the lack of attention he was getting.
"I think if Michael wants Ashton to sing it, he should. Don't worry about it for now." Luke laughs and nods to Ashton.
"Alright, I will then. What's it about, man?" Ashton gives in and takes the crinkled up paper from puffy eyes Michael. The coloured hair boy smiles as things were going his way.
"It's called Pizza." He confesses.
"Okay... How did you want me to sing it?" Ashton says nervously as he walks over to the microphone.
"Basically just yell it. Over and over." Michael nods and sits down next to Calum.
Luke sits down on the drum stool and grabs the sticks. He plays a simple beat, one that Ashton taught him a couple of days ago.
To the beat of Luke's drumming, Ashton starts -
"Michael-""LOUDER!" Michael yells as he claps his hands to the beat.
"MICHAEL WANTS ANOTHER SLICE,
MICHAEL WANTS ANOTHER SLICE,
MICHAEL WANTS ANOTHER SLICE,
PIZZA! PIZZA!""I wasn't expecting this..." Calum says under his breath, before realising Michael was next to him smiling like a dork.
Ashton repeats the verse, as it was the only thing written down on the paper.
Calum leaves the room from trying not to laugh so hard, and whips out his phone. He dials a number softly. "Hey, yeah, I'd like to order a couple of pizzas..."
"How long do I have to keep repeating this for?" Ashton says through the microphone and and Luke stops playing the drums.
"Um, I'd say maybe 4 or 5 times?" Michael cheers, evidentially much happier than what he was before.
"Okay." Ashton says softly, noticing how Michaels face lights up when he gets attention.
Calum walks back into the room. "Pizzas on its way." He cheers.
Michael doesn't say anything, he just walks over to Calum and wraps his arms around him.
Luke steps out from behind the drums to join the hug, and then Ashton does as well.
"This next album will be a hit." Calum says.
"Can we put pizza on it?" Michael asks.
"Maybe." Luke answers quickly.
