Arabella's eyes flickered open and she saw how her head was resting on Luke's lap. He was still leaning up against the wall sound asleep. Quietly she got up and stretched, yawning. Her attention turned to all the other guys who looked directly at her weirdly, but she just continued to yawn. She made eye contact with Chris who was clearly trying to put out the fire they had last night. The room was lighter than usual than what the group of hunters saw before. This time you could actually see the muck on their faces, "Good morning." This time it wasn't just a room. It was more of a parking lot.
"Morning," they greeted Arabella and continued doing their work. She looked seeing Dalton awake and remembered how bad it was being alive during the virus that spread.
"Time to get up baby Luke," Chris joked around, pushed himself up and smacked Luke on the head and then spoke with his regular voice, "We had to leave soon." Arabella sat down eating canned corn and drank the water Max preserved for all of them.
Luke groaned and then rubbed his eyes, moving around, "Good morning guys."
"Good morning," the first person to speak was Arabella, "Get your breakfast and eat it on the way out. We've got to get moving." Luke got up as well as Arabella, and he gazed at her weirdly, one way she didn't know of. She furrowed her eyebrows and then just tossed the can to him never leaving her eyes off his.
Chris walked up to the two and smiled, "You guys look happy to see each other." Arabella then crossed her arms for a short while and smiled a little trying to forget it.
The boys worked together putting everything away. Max, this time, had a little chat with Arabella.
"So how'd it go last night with the sleep," Max questioned her. Suddenly she remembered her very first kiss that happened just last night for no reason.
Arabella only raised her shoulders and sighed, "I slept well. Wasn't as comfortable as I thought it would but it was doable." Things got awkward between Luke and Arabella for a little bit, but her heart was pumping and her stomach was fluttering. Once they were packed with their belongings, the strange croaking noises that didn't seem to be familiar, but fear coated her body. Slowly she lifted up her gun to a shooting position.Luke and Max watched Arabella to see if she would make a move. It was so tempting. Sweat dripping from their foreheads. Whatever these things were, they sound disgusting not to mention painful as well, The horrifying noises of clicking, moaning and croaking got closer by each step. Arabella's pupils were surrounded by the crystal blue colored rims, and she reloaded her gun.
Chris stood behind her and whispered, "Don't do this."
"It'll find us," she said and ran out with a heavy scream and pulled the trigger many times till it fell to the floor. Suddenly it went silent, the tension of her muscles were relaxing once again and they all sighed in relief except Chris frowned at how she didn't listen to him, "See that wasn't so-"
Arabella was cut off by Dee yelling, "GET OUT OF HERE!!!" More moaning, hisses and croaking had never ended. Her face flushed pale, and Chris cursed under his breath as they all began sprinting towards the light. Adrenaline rushed all over their bodies.
"Don't look back," Arabella yelled, "Keep running!!" By now Chris had already turned back, seeing the angry mob of Runners headed their direction. She stood back with Max and Chris, holding them back.
Chris complained and yelled over the bullets being fired. One by one, each runner hit the floor dead. Others fighting their way to eat them all. Hunger."Arabella I hate you right now," He hissed under his breath.
She rolled her eyes again, "Quit your crying lets move!" They stopped and continued running but they ran another direction. Jumping over debris, lifting up onto trashcans and climbing fences. Arabella finally knew how torture felt as her legs began to burn. Never look back, never look back.
The boys all met up in the middle along with Arabella. "Everyone, with me."
"Arabella and I will run along the other direction to get them off your guys back," Chris suggested. She looked at him if he were crazy, but then Luke glanced at Arabella with a sign of caution, "We make a good team." That's why he wanted to be alone with her. He wanted to have her to himself. Excuses excuses.. What will anyone do without them?
He blinked once and warned them, "Be careful out there." With that they nodded and turned around reloading their guns.
"I hate you now, Chris," she grumbled and fired left and right shooting them from the head, stomach, and chest only.
