A little about Lyra: she is a 17 year old witch, her mom is considered a dark witch while her dad was a neutral warlock. Her grandmother (fathers side) is her idol but yesterday she received a letter from her grandmothers familiar telling Lyra that her grandma was very ill.
Unlike most witches Lyra can cast spells with whistling different notes (its similar to speed dialing). The magic she knows she can use are familiar spells, local spells, illusion spells and the odd weak hex however she refuses to use the hexes on purpose.New Spells Seen: Eye of the Familiar, Voices heard, contacters, companion's scale
"EDDY!...Edwin?" I shouted, there was no reply.
I continued to run towards the train station, it was a chilly morning and we were not going to stay here any longer.
"Mistress Im here!" Looking up I could see the silhouette of my familiar.
Edwin was a shadow tallon raven my grandmother had helped me summon when I was 13, ever since then he had been my faithful familiar and companion. Compared to the ravens seen on this side of the vale he was quite large and his feathers have a slight blue tinge to them however Im told this is normal.
The dark feathered bird glided down to my side and continued to keep pace with me.
"The train then?" He asked.Nearly out of breath I nodded, when I did he flapped his wings hard and took to the morning sky, to see how far the train was no doubt.
"Uh my lady, I don't think we have time to get on the train in a normal fashion..." Edd said not looking down.
My chest was hurting at this point making my sprint slowly turn to a run, then a jog, finally to a walk. Edwin instinctively circled back and landed on my shoulder.
"What would y-you suggest?" I managed to get out between breaths.
"It looked like the caboose had a railing and overhang, try jumping on it." He suggested calmly.
If my blank expression didn't show my thoughts on his insane idea the silence did. Edwin sighed and explained that the train would be arriving at the station soon and he was right there was no way I would make it there in time.
"Fine, Edwin find me the most direct path to the tracks. Im not staying here another week because I missed a train!" With a quick nodd the bird shot towards the sky once more.
Taking a deep breath I began running again, I was close to the train the sound of the whistle going off told me it had just began to leave. Edwin released a caw of joy, he had found my path, soon I found myself running in the woods underneath my majestic bird, for a moment I began to drift to the past and remember fonder memories of being young playing with Eddy and father in these woods, but right now I had to keep my mind clear of distractions I needed that train! Soon I was bursting through the bushes, my leggings had ripped thanks to the thorny undergrowth in the forest but I could care less, directly in front of me was my train.
"The caboose is comming up quickly, throw me your bag. Just make sure you get on safely!" I nodded and tossed up my bag.
Eddy caught it like a owl would catch a sparrow out of the sky, then flue to the caboose carts roof. It wasn't going to be a far jump but if it was a few seconds off I would be eating a train rail, that or have a huge headache from the trains siding. Looking behind me I could see the train was comming to an end and quickly soon I found myself running behind said train.
"Lyra jump!" Edwin shouted.
With a quick breath I launched towards the loud train, my hands nearly missing the ledge. As I pulled myself up the rusted iron side of the caboose I could feel chilled blood run down my legs as they scraped across sharp edge of the train. Once I was securely on board the speeding iorn horse Edwin and I examened my now gushing Blackish red bloodied limbs. When I went to shift, my rush of adrenaline from chasing the train had gone and I was filled with waves of pain quickly shooting through my body.
