I stepped out of the doors of the high school and peered across the parkinglot seeing people climb into their cars and throwing small parties in them. It was officially summer. The official time for partying and freedom. Landon grabbed my hand making me jump and we walked out to his car. We didn't care anymore. We were free to do what we want and it was about time to show each other. From outo f the corner of my eye, I could a few people give us weird looks, but I felt something more pressing against my back. It was a cold stare. I started to look around, and Landon just shook his head and climbed into his car.
"You don't need to be so paranoid anymore hun," he said smiling over at me. His Camaro gave a loud roar and we sped out of the parking lot leaving the rest of the cars in his dust. I ignored him and looked back at the parking lot to see a dark figure standing in the fading dust. He was all black, but there was something about his eyes that caught me eyes. They were burning red, even brighter than the scorching sun of the summer already upon us. I had to do a double take, and when I looked back, nothing was there. That freaked me out. I grabbed Landon's hand and looked straight forward trying to forget that anyhting had happened. He could see the fright on my face and gave me a small squeeze. He must've thought I hated how fast he was driving down the country road. I always did hate that. We rounded the old church in front of my house and he stopped in front. I didn't unglue myself from looking forward.
"Hunny, are you ok?" I just sat there staring forward. Then there was a big thud on the hood of his car and we were thrown forward. I looked up from blocking my head from the shattered window to find the creature that was in the parking lot on the hood and trying to claw its way inside of the car. I was frozen, my blood in my veins refusing to pump. Landon pulled me out of the car and we ran inside my house locking the door behind us. We were leaning against the dark breathing hard. His head had a cut across his forhead and something poked my heart with something sharp. My baby was hurt, but apparently I had no room to be talking. Landon led me to the nearest chair and lifted up my arm. It was broken from protecting myself. He ran off somewhere in the house as I just sat there staring at my arm. Blood was running everywhere and a white piece of bone was poking out of my skin. I didn't even feel it. I decided to look around til I could start feeling it, but what I noticed made me scared even more. Everything was dark in the house. No one was home, not even my mom who was usually home at least an hour before I was. Landon returned with the First Aide Kit and two pieces of thin wood from the fireplace in the back of the house. He silently put me back together again, and I just kept looking around nervously. When it finally got to me, I tapped his shoulder.
"Baby, no one is home. That's a bad sign," I said trying to get back up, but when I was halfway up, I could see something black take up the whole front room. I looked closer, and realized it wasn't just one thing, it was a full group of the black attackers. Their glowing eyes were focused upon us, and I felt that we werent able to run.
