The Long Haul To Electro

I don't know how long I've been running, seconds, minutes, hours, or even years. It started out as a simple job, clear out the North office and report to base. It hit the fan fast, now Sergeant Pierce and and General Morris were dead. The Bastards chewed them up quick, there was a point where the screams of of Pierce and Morris just stopped, just the sounds of their bones crunching through the Bastards teeth and the sickening rumble of my throat. I knew if I kept thinking about the experience I would throw up or cry, both of those scenarios end up with me getting my ass chewed by the Bastards.

I stopped running after I realized the Bastards had given up chasing me. I heard the rumble of my stomach and reached into my pack for a can of beans. "Shit." I said as I remembered had ate them on the way to the city. I had to get back to the compound before I died, either I drop dead of starvation and dehydration, or the Bastards catch up.

Just a little backstory, after the infection from Northwest China spread to Asia, then the Middle East, then Chenarus, the U.S dispatched a virus stopping division to kill the virus before it spread to Russia, then made its way to Europe. I was sent to Chernogorsk to mop up the outbreak before it made its way to Electrovadosk. Yeah that was a utter failure so we got the hell out of Cherno and moved north. Now we're held up in a compound north of Cherno and plan on relocating to Electro.

I heard slowly went to slowly went to sleep and maybe a few hours later I woke up to my radio."Sergeant Kat, meet us up in Electro tommorow, before either the Bastards or Bandits get ya." I was really sweaty and drowsy "Only 70 more miles to go." I exclaimed. I realised Pierce and Morris were dead. A cloud of depression and sadness flew over me as I realised they had families, a wife and kids and a dog named Skip. Don't think about it I thought as I got up. I fell on my ass as I weakly tried to stand up. I grabbed a tree and just barely stood on my feet. I had a boner. I reminisced all those weary college days where I woke up with a foot long for all to see. Those days seemed like an eternity ago. I walked it off and pulled out my map.

It was dark now. I had to walk 20 more miles. I tripped and fell hard on the ground, I fell into a hole. It was a mass grave. My ankle hurt like hell, I sprained it. I heard a low moan, it was a Bastard. I took out my AR-15 at light speed and shot the dirty Bastard. He fell on the other bodies. I climbed the up a ladder that was conviently placed at the edge. My ankle was fire, I let out a very sexual noise as I reached the road. I kept walking for a few more hours and the pain in my ankle was numb. My pants were riding up on me, creating more sweat, which made the long haul longer, and more uncomfortable.

A few hours later I found my compound. Shit, that was a nice view. You could see the aircraft carrier from here. When the U.S dispatched the virus killing division, they sailed a carrier in. I could see the F-15s flying off and then bombing Cherno then coming back. Why haven't they started an evac I thought. There was talk about nukes, a cure, or a wall around the country. I heard about the Russain Wall created around Georgia before I was shipped over here. I was greeted by the gaurds and Lieutenant Dan started some small talk"Kat, where's Pierce and Morris?" He asked"On a floor in Chernogorsk, getting their skin ripped from their bones piece by piece." I replied grimly. "Oooookayyyy." Dan said. I went to the barracks and dropped my stuff. I threw myself on the bed and was asleep before I hit the matress. I was safe. For now.
