Gifted

Chapter 1

 "Loki~! come here boy~!" A young feminine voice called out, and a giant  black wolf pops out of the forest ecstatic. The wolf tackles the girl, giving her wet kisses, "come on boy stop it! yea yea I love you too!" the girl laughs pushing the giant wolf off her. The wolf sits down wagging his tail, creating a dusty cloud behind him.

"Okay what do you wanna do today, your choice?" asked the girl with a smile. The wolf looks up in thought and makes a giant smile "I wanna play at the lake!" The girl smiles and nods,"okay then let's get going." The girl hops on the wolf's back, riding him as he dashes through the forest.

They soon arrive at the lake, the wolf slowly stops letting the now crazy haired girl off. She smiles and pets him gently,then fixes her hair. " So what you want to do now?" The wolf wags his tail and pushes his nose into her stomach affectionately, then looks up at her. "OMG you are tooooo cuuute~!" She screams, hugging the wolfs head. Then suddenly her phone rings,and she looks at the number and frowns." Yes? This is Lilia speaking" for her short time her face was dark as a she talked to the man over the phone. Soon she ends the call and plops down on Loki who was laying beside her,and starts to cry. Loki looks at her with sorrowful eyes and nuzzles her gently,trying to cheer her up. She looks up into his deep blue eyes with tears running down her face, she makes a small smile.

       For 10 minutes she cuddled against Loki till she calmed down. Then he licks her face which made her laugh that made his tail wag." Are you better now?" Loki says picking her up with his nose. Lilia smiles and nods"much better, thanks Loki." Lilia looks at the lake and looks at Loki" wanna take a dip?" He nods and walks towards the lake waiting. A moment later she jumps into the lake surprising Loki making him jump. He looks at her as she pops her head out of the water," nice one Lily." She laughs and splashed his face with cool water. Loki smirks and walks off, and quickly run back jumping into the lake. Both now laughing they swam and splashed each other and played. They soon get tired and head back to shore. Loki stares as Lilia changes and sees her back and frowns. Her back had multiple scars from whips and other objects. Loki walked up to her and put is cold nose against her which made her turn around. She made a gentle smile and petted his head softly," what is it?" Loki looks into her forest green eyes," you sure you're going to be alright?" Lilia smiles and nods and slips her shirt on. After getting fully dressed she looks at her phone and sees multiple text messages, and frowns. She looks at Loki and sighs," he's getting angry.... So I got to leave." Loki sighs," why don't you live with me here, you don't have to live with him?!" Lilia makes a sorrowful smile and puts her hand on his nose," you know I can't leave him alone he'll die without me." The wolfs fur stands up with his tail erect," YOU'LL DIE IF YOU STAY, HE WILL KILL YOU!!!" Lilia closes her eyes and calmly says," I am fully aware of that Loki. "
       
        For a moment Loki glares at her and finally sighs and lowers his body. Lilia hops on his back and tells him to head back. Loki reluctantly trots through the forest. Half way back he looks up at Lilia," you know..... I'm sorry for yelling at you like that..." She gently pets the wolf's head," its fine, I'm happy that you got mad for my sake, you were worried about me....so I thank you for that." Loki slows down and then reverts back to a trot," anything for you."

        They soon arrive at the edge of the forest and Lilia slides off the world's back. Then she turns around facing to wolf and pets his head and ears," thanks  Loki, I'll try coming later in a few days." She kisses the wolf's nose and hugs him tightly. Loki hugs her with his head gently," okay I'll be waiting for you here. Be safe please." Lilia nods and walks off slowly as Loki watches solemnly.

        Later Lilia arrives home and her father sitting at the table passed out. She sighs and wakes him up," father you need to get up, don't sleep at the table." Her father quickly grabs her arm and throws her to the floor," WHO THE HELL YOU THINK YOU ARE TELLING ME WHAT TO DO!!! WHERE THE HELL YOU AT ALL DAY!!!HUH?!!"  Lilia stands up apologizes and said she was with a friend from school. Her father glares at her, curses, then stumbles off. Lilia walks cautiously to the fridge, watching the drunkard. Then as she opens the door, her father throws a bottle hitting her back, breaking causing new cuts. She winces, used to the pain and walks off to her room.

        Later that evening when her father was asleep, she sneaks out of the house and heads to a nearby coffee shop. She turns down the alley and turns and knocks on the staff door. The door opens and young woman opens the door. The woman looks at Lilia and makes a gentle yet sad smile," come on in deary." Lilia walks in and sits down in a stool in the staff room. The woman walks off and returns with a first aid kit," okay let me see how bad it is." Lilia lifts up her shirt exposing her fresh wounds," how bad is it?" The woman sighs in relief," not as bad as the last incident, but its going to make more scars." Lilia sighs then starts to wince when she started to treat it," thank you Amber... For everything." The woman named Amber gently smiled and pat her head," you're welcome sweetie, anything for Emma's daughter." Lilia chuckled softly then started to tear up. Amber heard a sniffle and she finished bandaging and whipped in front of her, cupping her cheeks." Don't cry sweetie, I know.... I miss her too, its been 6 years and you are 16, I'd love to take you in but the law won't allow me to. As your mother's best friend and God mother, I want the best for you and I want you to be safe, but with that father of yours, I don't know how you made it this far, and if it wasn't for me you'll be dead. " Amber hugged Lilia gently and kissed her cheek. Lilia stopped crying and looks up at the brunette. Amber changing the conversation, " anyways, how is Loki doing?" Amber which is one of the very few that knows about the wolf. Lilia smiled,"he's doing good.... he got mad at me today because I wouldn't stay with him."

Amber chuckled,"I can see why, living with that man." Lilia sighs and stands up,wincing," I better head home don't want father to get angry again." Amber frowns," okay sweetie...just be careful okay??" Lilia smiles and nods as she walks back into the alley.
