I couldn't really recall anything after I left. I just remember walking the same route I always did. I took a right on the corner of the school and walked in between the house, and then through the park and my house was a turn away.

Except this time someone was following me. I hadn't seen him when I walked out of school, but soon he was walking at my pace, and with heavier steps. I kept telling myself that I was being paranoid and he wanted nothing from me.

My heart began to race when I felt his pace speed up I began jogging making sure I avoided the houses for this time. I turned left and found a couple people on the block. I tried to speed up and catch up to them. The little air I had in me was disappearing as I noticed that they too were approaching me.

Where do I go?

I kept repeating to myself and quickly ran away from them. A strong arm grabbed my throat and cut off my air. Tears stung my eyes and dripped down my cheeks leaving wet trails. My hands were nothing compared to the the man's who was holding me.

Why didn't anyone hear me? I kept yelling out for help, but no one came. My voice kept fighting the silence that surrounded me, begging for someone to come and rescue me pleading for mercy, but no one ever came.

I kept fighting as one by one hurt me and did what they wanted. Eventually I stopped, my tears blurred everything surrounding me and my fear forbade my eyes from opening. My yells were now just sobs full of pain.

Everything that had occurred that day engulfed my entire being. The funny jokes that my friends and I had shared and the kiss my mom had given me before I left the house.

I could swear, I didn't feel a single thing as they took away my life with every fist. I just felt a soft wind very light as it danced through my hair. I laid there for who knows how long, until someone found me.

"Be safe."

Those were my mothers words before I had left the house. I promised her I would and I broke that promise, but for as long as my sister and her live I'll be the one guarding them.

And everyday I'll wait outside for her to come out of school and get home and everyday she'll be safe.
