I feel like a little girl being told a story in kindergarten. I wriggle into the pillows to get comfortable, minding my broken bones and sit eagerly waiting for Lainey to start speaking.

She seems nervous, and a little distraught. She has trouble finding where to start, so Toby speaks up.

"Its April 22nd, the year 2013. The air is cool and icey, the wind blowing steadily through the city" Me and Lainey start giggling and Toby looks up to the corner in an overdramatic fashion and holds his fingers to his chin, outstretching his leg and looking remarkably like Count Olaf in one scene of A Series Of Unfortunate Events. I only remember that because I saw that part on tv briefly before Toby returned to my room.

By now we're all laughing, though I'm trying not to as it hurts my ribs a LOT. The doctor has yet to come back and tell me exactly what my injuries are, so I need to be extra careful.

Toby notices me grimacing and gradually stops laughing, Lainey following suit. I see Toby start to worry so I quickly speak up

"No but really, do go on, I'm enjoying this story" He seems surprised, but reluctant. I send him a reassuring half smile and he nods. Collecting himself, he grins and continues

"Our heroine, Kytana- uhh....."

"Lynn" Lainey chirps

"Kytana Lynn.." He seems to wander off in thought briefly, before quickly snapping back to reality.

"Yes, so our heroine, Kytana Lynn, leaves the building precariously early, her eyes filled with determination and hunger" His voice is rediculously dramatic and I can't help but grin.

"She walks down the hill, her heels clapping along the ground as she makes her way to the airport to collect her friend, Lainey. With her brightly coloured jeans and her top screaming TOBUSCUS she was a colourful character." As he screamed TOBUSCUS he jumped to his feet and pointed to his shirt, before quickly returning to his seat as if nothing happened.

He makes a detailed description of me getting on the bus and going to the airport, and I'm not sure exactly how much he makes up, but I can see his imagination running.

"With her baseball bat in hand, she quickly turns and smacks the disgusting cashier across the face, her insides teeming with anger. She leaves the guy, spitting on the ground, grabbing her order and walking off triumphantly" I can't help but laugh at this part, and I'm not even sure if he was making it up or not. Lainey next to me rolls her eyes and chuckles to herself.

"As she struts off, iced coffee and red velvet cupcake in hand, she sets her eyes ahead of her, determined and ready. And then-" He jumps to his feet again, running around to Lainey and pulling her off the chair. He whispers something to her and she nods, laughing to herself. I give them a moment to sort themselves.

Toby stands in the corner of the room, continuing. Lainey begins walking towards the bed, marching forward and holding an invisible coffee and muffin in her hands.

"Suddenly, a young and incredibly handsome young man by the name of Toby Joe Turner swoops in and knocks her off her feet" At this he runs over to Lainey, who then overdramatically falls to the ground.

They act out the entire scene, being huge drama queens, until the part where me and Toby seperated. Then the two sit back down for Lainey to continue the story. She's still a little nervous, but she's definitely more comfortable than before.

"Okay well I don't know if I'm as great a story teller as Toby" she shoots him a quick look, which he returns with a bow and a silent "Thank you, thank you" to the invisible audience. She giggles

"But I'll try my best" She clears her throat

"Kytana, feeling confident and a little giddy, walks back to the terminal to find her super awesome best friend, Lainey. The two meet up and she is quick to tell her friend of the amazingness that is Toby Turner. They leave the airport, linking arms and skipping excitedly to the bus stop. The entire ride home, Kytana replays everything that happened to Lainey, who listens eagerly and intently, never removing her gaze from the light in Kytanas."

She's getting quite into the story, having fun with her imagination also.

She talks me through the excitedness we both felt after I discovered Toby had tweeted me, which apparently meant quite a lot. I guess if I still remembered Toby I would be pretty overjoyed that he's even sitting so close to me right now.

Then she starts getting nervous as she recalls herself tweeting Toby in reply, and remembering my shocked and half angered expression. She assures me I was merely joking, and we play fight a lot. Well, used to.

"Kytana drops the phone, assuring Lainey she has 10 seconds to live. Lainey, acting terrified, sprints out the door and runs to the stairs. The two giggle their way down, Kytana hurling pretend threats as they amble their way to the ground floor and out the door. They race down the hill, laughing like little kids playing tag. They fly over the stairs, dodging bullets and old grandmas as they run through the steep street." She stops suddenly, realising there isn't much of the story to go, I assume. I grab her hand and squeeze it reassuringly. She nods up at me and goes on.

"Kytana calls on all her strength and the power of Zeus himself, and closes the gap between her and her friend so much that she can almost reach out and touch her. She grins to herself with confidence. But Lainey, unaware of how close her friend is, reers around the corner suddenly, taking Kytana by surprise. Kytana has gained too much momentum and cant slow herself." She's having trouble holding back tears now, and cant bring herself to carry on.

"I'm sorry- I just- I can't-" She hurries out of the room, her face buried in her hands and muffled sobs rounding the walls. I feel guilty for making her do that, she must feel so terrible.

I watch her leave and glance over at Toby, his eyes meet mine and he mutters "She'll be fine" before turning his body back to face me so he can finish the story as best he can.

By now I'm nervous; I know what happens in my own eyes but it's different when you're watching it all go down. He tells me what he saw happen and I sit quietly, taking everything in. Once he's finished, he pauses before taking a deep breath and sitting back, watching my face for a reaction. But before I have a chance to react, the doctor enters and we both shuffle around awkwardly as he makes his way to my bed, clipboard in hand.

I feel the lump in my throat double and I sit up, readying myself for the report.
