I'm not a morning person. Well, I'm never awake to actually experience a morning, but I woke up early today for my first day at college. I heard my step sister calling me downstairs to greet her.  The luxurious smell of chocolate chip pancakes filled the air as I neared the kitchen.

"Morning' Kylie. Are you ready for your first day at college?" Lacey said as she greeted me with a friendly smile.

"Yeah I finished packing last night." All my bags are packed up and ready to go. All I need to do is pack them in my car.

"Ok, well hurry up and eat so we can hit the road." I smiled to show her that I understand and began to head upstairs into my bedroom. I'm going to miss not having  queen size bed and my mini fridge around but I'm very excited to see what I will gain from this experience.

Lacey is probably the most energetic girl I have ever come across. We had never met until about a year ago because my dad was-is- what you would call a " man whore".  My mom left me when I was 15 to move in with her rich fiancé. Since then I have lived alone and worked to pay rent. I graduated high school with a 4.0 and got a scholarship to UCLA. Lacey found me on Facebook and we kind of talked from there. A few months later we bought an apartment together in Santa Monica. It was small at first but we made everything fit and lived there for almost a year.

---

"Is this all?" Lacey questioned as we closed the trunk to my car.

"Yea I'm only going to bring what is necessary and purchase new items once I get settled in." I said as I wrapped my arms around her one last time. Campus isn't too far away from the apartment so I will still visit with Lacey.

I got in my car and headed towards campus. After an hour of listening to twenty one pilots and driving, I finally reached the parking deck deck. I showed the officer my student ID and parked in the nearest slot.  I grabbed some of my luggage and started to walk towards the dorms. This place is beautiful. each dorm has a window with a perfect view of L.A and a walk-in closet to store all of my clothes.

The walk there was magnificent. There is a large oak bridge over a flowing river with beautiful flowers lining the edge. The building cascaded over me as I looked up at the many floors. When I reached my room I unpacked all of my clothes and toiletries. I remembered seeing a pizza place down the street and decided to go look around. As soon as I opened the door I came face-to-face with a girl.

"Hi! I'm Tori. What's your name? I'm your roommate. oh are you busy because i can go away if you want, some people say I'm anno-" before she could finish I interrupted her to calm down.

"Woah, woah" I interupted "Im Kylie and nice to meet you."

"Oh thanks you too"She replied. Her cheeks flushed a bright shade of pink. I felt bad for interrupting her but I didn't want to be rude.

"I was just about to go get some pizza. Do you want to come?" I offered sending her a friendly smile.
