A/N : This poem is about the show 'The Mentalist'. The poem is told from the perspective of the main character to a serial killer who murdered his wife and child. Ever since, the main character has been looking for the murderer, bent upon killing him as revenge. Feel free to PM me if you want more details or something. :)

Is It Worth It?
The obsession and all those sleepless nights,
That long and hard quest for peace.
Is it worth it?
The isolation and insanity,
The hunger for revenge.
Is it worth it?
Now I'm here with you cowering at my feet,
Should I do it? Can I?
Tell me, is it worth it?
For sure you deserve it,
To feel the sting of the grief that you bring.
But is it really worth it?
I let you go and as you scamper away,
I know
That it isn't worth it.
Do not mistake my strength for weakness,
For I have let you go,
But you will never be free.
It just isn't worth it.
