Hazel's POV

I was on my bed, listening to music when the alarm on my phone went off. I looked at the time and realized, panic growing in my stomach, that I was going on a date in just 40 minutes! I quickly hopped into the shower, ate a quick lunch, and tried to brush my hair, but my black curls would not be tamed. So, I pulled it back into a messy ponytail and hoped it looked okay. I applied some natural looking makeup to my coffee colored skin and started looking for my outfit. I finally picked out some light blue jeans, paired it with a teal blouse, and put a few simple bracelets on. There was a knock on my door just as I pulled on my black boots.

"Ready to go Hazel?" My handsome boyfriend, Frank, asked. I blushed and nodded my head. "Yup. Where are we headed tonight?" I asked him, and he put on a slight smile. "It's a surprise," he leaned down and kissed my nose, " so you'll just have to wait and see." We went over to his car, and he opened the passenger seat for me. "You're such a gentleman, Frank." I smiled. We had been dating for about 3 years now, and even though he is a year older than me and almost 6 inches taller, I feel as if he is the perfect guy for me.

When we arrived at our destination, I realized that we were hiking to the top of the mountain that looks over the sea. Many people say that if you go for the sunset, it can be the most romantic spot in the town. Frank and I went here for our first date, and it was the best night of my life, so I guess the rumours were true. We started walking up the winding path, red and orange leaves crunching under my feet and more falling around us. I was surprised that such a beautiful spot wasn't as crowded as a shopping center on Christmas eve.

As we reached the summit, I looked out into the ocean and sighed, we had made it just as the sun started to sink below the horizon. Frank set down a green blanket and we sat down, hand in hand, looking out to sea. The bright pinks and oranges captivated me, until Frank started to talk. "Hazel, I have had such a good time with you. You are always in a good mood and you cheer me up when i'm feeling down. Being with you is the best thing that has ever happened to me, and I never want it to end. You are my everything, so," He paused and reached into his back pocket and I gasped. " Hazel, will you marry me?". My face broke into the biggest smile humanly possible. "Yes!"
