It was almost 3:00 and Frank still wasn't ready for his date. He looked at himself in the mirror one last time and decided that he was satisfied with how he had dressed, a green jacket and blue gray jeans, and began to straighten his dark brown hair. Finally, he put on his hiking boots and went to met his beautiful girlfriend. as he drove up to her house, he wondered why they hadn't moved in together yet, they had been dating for almost 3 whole years. Forcing himself out of his thoughts, he walked up and knocked on her door.
After greeting Hazel, Frank walked her towards the car and began the 30 minute car ride to a spot neither of them will ever forget. It was the spot of their first date, and he hoped that tonight he could add something onto that list. When the two of them reached the mountain, it was almost 4:00. Frank was glad there weren't many people, he wanted this night to be only for them. As the couple reached near the top of the peak, many thoughts were racing through Frank's head, and the weight of the box in his pocket felt as if it had doubled. But, then he thought of all the good outcomes, and he looked over at Hazel, who seemed to be absorbed in the scenery, completely unaware of what was soon to come.
Frank pulled out a green blanket and patted it, indicating for Hazel to come sit with him. She did so, and they sat in a comfortable silence, hand in hand, captivated by the sun, lowering in the the ocean like a bright marble illuminating the clear water with oranges and pinks. The sky was just as beautiful, but with blues and yellows mixing with the sun. It seemed like mother nature was on his side, making this night into the best night of his life.
As the night continued, the two made little conversation, but that didn't matter, this night they would remember for all their life. Frank took a deep breath and mentally rehearsed his speech once more. Finally, he spoke. "Hazel, I have had such a good time with you. You are always in a good mood and you cheer me up when i'm feeling down. Being with you is the best thing that has ever happened to me, and I never want it to end. You are my everything, so," he pause a second to pull out the little red velvet box,"Hazel, will you marry me?" Frank looked at her face, and seeing her smile, he smiled to, and opened the box."Yes!" Hazel exclaimed, and pulled out the diamond ring and slipped it on her finger. So, as the sunset came to an end, the soon-to-be husband and wife sat hand in hand, never wanting the night to end.
