As his gaze scanned the page, dropping him deeper into the marvelous adventures of Sherlock Holmes, he felt the bed shift. Then, soft feathery hair was brushing against his forearm. Harry glanced up to see Draco lying beside him, hugging a pillow, his expression deeply pained. He and Draco had grown remarkably close in the past few months, since Draco's new status had been revealed to the favored trio. Draco had also managed to befriend Ron and Hermione. They'd all just eaten dinner together and he'd been fine then.
Frowning, Harry set down his book and reached to gently ruffle the were-wolf's hair. "Are you okay, Draco?"
"My stomach hurts," the blonde half growled, half whined. Harry studied him worriedly. He knew Draco hadn't eaten any more than usual. Frown deepening, he reached to touch Draco's forehead.
"You don't have a fever...maybe.." Harry thought back to dinner. What had he seen Draco eat? Chicken, but he and Ron also ate that and were fine. The veggies and rice were the same. And at dessert, Draco hadn't eaten anything, except- "Could it have been the chocolate Hermione had you try?"
Draco glanced up, scowling in pained confusion. "What do you mean...?" He questioned, both hands pressing the pillow to his stomach.
"It could be causing you indigestion," Harry said, just coming to the realization. "Because chocolate is bad for dogs and you basically are part dog being a-"
"Heyyyy...." Draco whined; he was still quiet sensitive about that, as most wizards would be. Harry only chuckled in response, carefully freeing the pillow from Draco's grasp and pulling him up so that he could rest his head on Harry's shoulder. Then Harry pressed his palm tenderly against the other boy's stomach. It gurgled and churned beneath his palm, causing Draco to whimper. "Mmnnnn...." Draco grunted, nuzzling Harry's neck.
"So, no chocolate from now on because it makes you sick," Harry soothed, beginning to massage Draco's belly in a circular pattern. Draco nodded, stretching his legs out, sighing. Harry chuckled again; Draco really did act like a dog. "Does this help some?"
"Yeah..." Draco murmured, then he gave a slight whine. "It's weird. I felt a little nauseous after we ate. Then, when I was on the couch reading, it started to feel like something was pressing on all sides of my stomach from inside. Stretching it out... like I was....what's the word for that again?" Draco often struggled with words, he'd spent a long time alone in the forbidden forest before he'd returned to Hogwarts in time for senior year.
"Bloated?" Harry asked, hand traveling to Draco's lower abdomen.
"Yeah...then it started growling at me, and everything hurt and I came to you..." Draco added. Harry nodded.
"Does it still feel that way?" Harry asked; Draco nodded a little, wincing at an angry growl that came from his midsection. Harry switched to a cross pattern- up and down, side to side, then back again- adding the slightest bit of pressure. "It's most likely gas building up in your stomach from it being so upset."
Draco gave another nod. Harry continued rubbing his stomach, frowning when a shifting air bubble caused it to rumble angrily and Draco to whimper. Harry gently pressed on Draco's stomach, and after a moment, a belch escaped the wiry blonde. Draco covered his mouth as it did so, closing his eyes, whining as a series of angry gurgles and growls violently escaped his belly.
"Oooohhhh....that hurts...." Draco whined, curling to cling to Harry.
"Oh, Draco, I'm sorry!" Harry cradled the blonde against him, nuzzling his hair apologetically.
"You didn't mean to...a-and the bloating is gone....but my tummyyyyy...." Draco whimpered. Harry tenderly smoothed a hand over the wolf's very sore belly, kissing his forehead.
"Shh...just try to relax...sleep... you'll feel better," He gently resumed rubbing Draco's belly, hoping to soothe the horrendous ache.
