In easy, normal and hard mode, your hunger bar becomes valid, and it activates, decreasing from certain activities you do. Hunger is decreased faster by sprinting, and mining. There are also half-hunger points. One half-hunger point is defined by a drumstick, similar to one point, but it has red streaks on it, as if it has blood on it. When you have at least 8 full hunger points, your health will regenerate. Here are certain food you can consume to replenish your hunger. I am unable to give the exact amount of hunger points regenerated for each type of food.
Bread-Craftable with wheat. These prove to be useful food as you can obtain wheat easily by farming. Should regenerate 3 points.
Watermelon-Does not regenerate much, I think only 1 point. However, they prove rare as melon seeds are difficult to find. One melon block gives three watermelons. Watermelons have low saturation, meaning that the points regained are quickly used up.
Steak-Found by killing mooshrooms or cows. Raw steak regenerates about 1.5 points, but cooked steak regenerates about 4 points. Raw or cooked, it can be used to heal tamed dogs and to activate their breeding hormone. Activating the hormone for two tamed dogs allow them to breed, resulting in a baby dog which is already tamed.
Porkchop-Killing pigs. Raw ones give you 1 point, and cooked ones 3.5. Porkchops are most effective in healing dogs, cooked or raw. It will also activate the hormone.
Mushroom stew-Obtainable by right-clicking a mooshroom with a bowl, or craftable by putting red mushrooms, brown mushrooms and a bowl together in a 2x2 crafting box in any formation possible. It regenerates 4 points, returning you a bowl.
Apple-Dropped randomly by trees when the leaves of it decay due to chopping of the tree, or breaking of the tree leaves. Regenerates 2 points. Its saturation is also low
Carrot-Farming. Two point regenerated.
Chicken-Raw ones give 1 point at least, and cooked ones 3 points. Usable for tamed dogs, like porkchop and steak.
Milk-Obtained by right clicking a cow or mooshroom with a bucket. It does not regenerate any points, but it does cure any effects from potions, etc.
Rotten flesh-Obtainable by killing zombies, this meat regenerates 2 points, but gives the "hunger" effect, which causes you to lose hunger points quickly, therefore it may not seem as if you have eaten anything.
Cake-Craftable with wheat, eggs, and sugar. Cake is a placable block that cannot be gotten back when you break it, unless you use a tool with silk touch enchantment. One cake can be consumed 10 times by right clicking the placed cake, of which a tenth disappears. One slice gives one point, making it suitable for storing food without holding any. Mobs are particularly attracted to cake, for some reason, and it sometimes eat them, though I do not know why. Therefore, it is advisable to store your cake somewhere safe.
Pumpkin pie-I do not know how to craft it, but it regenerates 5 points. You need some pumpkins, which are rare, so this is actually a "rare" food.
Special food
Food do not include all those funny stuff up there. Here are more uses for gold, for gold, when used for tools and combat, are particularly useless. Seems like gold, is not what we call useless anymore.
Golden apple (normal)-Crafted by putting an apple in the middle slot in the crafting table, and golden nuggets all around it. Don't know how to make golden nuggets? Just put one gold ingot in the table and you get 9 nuggets. A golden apple regenerates 2 points, and also gives you the Regeneration effect for awhile.
Golden apple (enchanted)-An enchanted golden apple has the same formation as the normal one, except that it uses pure golden blocks instead of golden nuggets. Pure gold blocks are crafted by putting a gold ingot into each slot of the crafting table. This enchanted apple sure uses a lot of resources-81 times of that of the normal golden apple, in fact.
