My eyes quickly looked back at the ground as I slowed my pace a bit. Eventually, the person trailing behind me, caught up. Now, my head was fully up as I looked up and smiled. I felt like I looked like a dork.
"Hey Kalie!" Todd said with the cutest little smile on his face. One of his best features!! I didn't know what to say!
"Hey Todd!!" I said with a strange change in my voice.
"Ready for the math test??" Todd questioned.
"Yea I guess so... Ready for the French test??" I asked plainly. He didn't answer for a moment and I noticed he wasn't next to me. I turned my head to look back. He had stopped dead in his tracks with wide eyes.
"That was today?!?" He asked frantically. I nodded slightly. He walked quickly to catch up with me once again but looked down at the ground like I was doing before.
"Didn't study, huh?" He looked up and shot me a look that obviously meant a sharp no. I quickly turned to the ground and quickened my pace. I felt sick and a chill shot through my spine. How stupid can I be?? I wanted school to be right there but it wasn't and we still had to walk 1 more block.
"Kalie wait!! I'm sorry, I shouldn't have given you that rude look and instead should have replied with a simple no. Are you mad at me?" Todd asked examining my face to see if I was gonna saying something. I did a half smile and shoved him on to the lawn next to him. We both burst into laughter as I stared at the sky, slowly bringing my head down as I turn to look at Todd. Our eyes met but I turned away as I felt my face get hot. We continued to walk, not realizing how close the school was. I was sad, I didn't want this walk with him to end. My eyes don't make it all the way up to his face. I didn't want him to see me smiling and blushing thinking about what had just happened!
