It had been almost a week since Hannah found out about Tiffany's betrayal and she still had not told anyone, especially not Patrick. It was Friday night and unlike the week before Hannah had not been alone with Patrick at all. There were many times were she could have been but she had been avoiding that occurrence at all costs. She did not feel comfortable being with Patrick at all, let alone with him, with what she had found out. It was 9:30 at night and Ali, Donya, and Josh had left to go sleep. Liam was still on his break from league and Emily was off at a party that night. As Hannah was about to say something Patrick interrupted, "I know what you're gonna say. You've been doing it all week. Why are you avoiding me?" Hannah started to panic inside. She knew it was true but she didn't want Patrick to know that. She thought that if she confirmed it Patrick would think the worst and that she didn't like him or something along those lines when the answer couldn't be more opposite. She didn't know why but she cared so much for Patrick and didn't want to be around him in case what she knew somehow hurt him. Out of desperation she feigned innocence and confusion and lied, "What? Nooo~. It's not that I've just been a bit busy as of recently that's all."
"So what were you about to say? Were you about to say that you had to go do something or you should be sleeping now?" Hannah hesitated and stuttered throughout her reply, "Noooo~ I was actually going to say the opposite. I was going to say that it's been a while n we should just talk like we used to." Patrick could sense the hesitation and confusion on her voice. He didn't particularly mind though, he thought he could show her it would be a good idea to just hang with him a bit. He also needed someone like Hannah cause although he didn't know about Tiffany's betrayal he did know that their relationship was not going in a good place unless something changed. He just wanted to talk to her. "So tell me how's school going? Still in chill mode?" trying not to say anything that might lead to what she knew she went along, "Yeah I'm still in chill mode. Kinda boring tbh. How about you, anything new at school for you?"
"Well kinda the same but right now I'm making some music for the school."
"Wow really you make music?"
"Yeah I make some tracks and play a few instruments. Mostly guitar but not very well." At this point Hannah forgot about her worries and was excited about finding out more of Patrick's talents. "Wooow. So you draw, you play instruments, not instrument... INSTRUMENTS, and you make music. Is there anything you don't do?" Patrick was flattered and laughed. "Well I did say not very well."
"Pft. That's what you said about your drawings and those were amazing."
"Well if you want I can play you a song and you can be the judge."
"YES. Yes yes yes yes yes please," Hannah replied with extreme excitement. With this Patrick grabbed his guitar and started strumming away beautiful melodies. The sounds encapsulating Hannah's senses. The warm and comforting sounds were pure bliss to Hannah. She slowly leaned into her chair and enjoyed the simple pleasure of well-played guitar. "So what ya think?" Hannah took a moment to straighten up. She had become so relaxed from Patrick's playing she almost fell asleep. "It was amazing. It was so calming and peaceful. And you said you weren't good." Patrick began to blush, "It really wasn't that great. I made so many mistakes."
"Well it was still nice to listen to so there. You're good."
"Ahah thanks. If you want I can send you the link to some of my other works. Fair warning there not all as relaxed as what I played. In fact most of it is electronic, trap, dub step things like that."
"Yeah sure I'd love to. Besides if they were as relaxing id probs fall asleep tbh." Hannah was so glad that she didn't leave. They spent the rest of the night admiring Patricks work till they eventually went to bed.
