~Norman POV~
After I unpacked my stuff, I decided to take a walk through the woods. They're pretty big, and there are quite a few ghosts, but they must be used to people, because they payed me no mind. Suddenly, I hear trees shaking and a boy about my age runs towards me. He trips on a root, but quickly recovers. He starts to run away again, but comes back and grabs me by my shoulders. I get a good look at him. Covered in dirt and cuts, he wears an orange shirt, blue vest, and a baseball cap with a pine tree on it. "Come with me if you want to live." With that, he grips my wrist and runs away from the sounds, being careful to avoid roots and rocks. "Who are you!?" He doesn't answer, but soon screeches to a stop. Some kind of giant gnome appears right in front of us. "WHAT IS THAT!?!?!?" This time, I get an answer. "Gnomes. Now run!" Taking my wrist again, he leads me to an huge pine tree. He reaches into the hole that's just above the trunk. "What are you doing!?"
~Dipper POV~
"Looking for the- aha!" I pull out the leaf blower that I stashed there in case of emergencies. "Why on earth do you have a leaf blower!?!? Why was it there!?" I sigh. This guy has a lot of questions. For the first time, I get a good look at him. His hair defies gravity, he has a red sweat shirt, and he has big, blue eyes. "It's their weakness! I put it there for this exact reason." The gnomes finally catch up to us, and I blow them all away in mere minutes. Once I'm sure each one is gone, we sit against the tree. I can hear him panting as I put the leaf blower back in the hole. "I'm Dipper, by the way." "Norman. Now, why were those things chasing you?" Well, this is going to be an interesting day. "I accidentally stumbled into their home. We don't exactly have a good past, so I guess they thought I was attacking them." He nods.
~Norman POV~
I reach for his arm, to see if it hurts when I touch it. He's covered in cuts and bruises, and I suddenly realize I am, too. He notices me reaching out, and moves away. "If you want to know if it hurts, it does. Come on, let's go to my place. I have all kinds of bandages there. This isn't exactly new for me." We walk around, and I notice we seem to be following arrow shaped signs that say Mystery Shack. "How long have you lived here?" I'm startled by his question. Other than the ghosts, the woods were really quiet. "I moved here yesterday." We continue walking until my theory is proven correct. I see a run down house with a sign that says Mystery hack. The S fell off. "This is where you live?" He nods and continues walking. I follow him inside and he leads me to a kitchen. "Hey bro-bro, who's your friend?" A girl in a pink sweater with a rainbow stitched on the front looks at us both. She looks a lot like Dipper, so I guess they're twins. Suddenly, she notices our wounds. "Are you guys okay?" Dipper nods while he messes around in a cabinet. "Mabel, that's Norman. Norman, Mabel." "Nice to meet you." She says as she reaches out a hand for me to shake. "You, too." I shake her hand, and Dipper starts wrapping my arm in cloth. "I'll do you, you do me." I nod and Mabel starts wiping the dirt off my back. "What happened this time?" "Gnomes." She groaned. "Not them again."
She started to clean my legs while Dipper wrapped the other arm. "I have a good feeling about this town."
~Author's Note~
Sorry for not doing much with ghosts this chapter! I promise, I'll do more with them. Have a good day, and always be creative.
