“Yes.”
“No.”
“Yup.”
“Nope.”
“Mhm.”
“Na-huh
“Daddy said yes!”
“Mommy said no last time!”
“So?”
“You could get hurt!”
“Not if I don’t fall.”
“Charlie, that tree is waaaay too big.”
“I’m big too.”
“Not that big.”
“Daddy said yes.”
“Daddy isn’t home so ha!”
“Well he’s at work and he wouldn’t care if he even was here, duh.”
“Urgh, maybe that’s why mommy hasn’t come home yet, you never listen.”
“That’s not fair, Lizzy, you know where mommy is. She’s busy.”
“Do you think that climbing the tree is going to help you find her? Charlie, get down!”
“If I find her, whatdya want me to say for you? “
“She’ll be so mad. Tell her I told you to get down but you don’t ever listen.”
“Not if she’s having a good day, right? She’s always happier when she wears the blond wig on a good day. She won’t be mad. And I miss her anyway, so she’s got to miss me too.”
“Just hurry up! Mamie is going to be here soon and she won’t be happy either. Are you at the top yet?”
“Yup.”
“So do you see her?!”
“No...”
“Hmm, I guess Heaven’s a little bit higher up than that tree.”
“I guess. I’ll just have to pick a bigger tree next time.”
