Okay, so my life has never been quite as "normal" as most 22 year old girls.
My family is complicated. "Isn't everyone's?" Sure! Definitely! But let me explain.
First, my family is very boy-oriented. What does that mean? It basically means that my sister and I were not allowed to outshine our two brothers. In anything. So when my sister went against my mother's wishes to become an actress, we had to cut our ties with her. She moved out to California to live with my uncle, where she became the all too well-known Kristen Stewart, and I was left here alone, at six years old, with no one on my side.
For the next 16 years, my life had become routine. Wake up, school, soccer on Mondays and Wednesdays, piano Tuesdays and Thursdays, Fridays I could spend with my friends if all chores were done. Saturdays and Sundays were family time.
When I tried to enroll for colleges outside of my state, hell even my city, my mom lost her mind. So try to imagine when she found my acceptance letter to Stanford University in California..
Needless to say, I'm attending a wonderful community college while still living with my parents. Every young adult's dream.
The rules in my house were very simple. Do what you're told when you're told to do it. Even though I was the only one whom that rule applied to, I was never one to argue it. And above everything else, NEVER talk about my sister to anyone. I tried pretty hard to keep it that way, but there is literally nothing that my best friend, Tara, doesn't know about me.
My mother tried everything she could to keep Kristen and I from contacting one another. She even changed our last names. But that never stopped us. I called Kristen every weekend and ever since my Sophomore year in high school, we had planned on outing our family for who we really were.
"Why is it such a big deal to keep who you really are a secret?" My mother's side of the family is very misogynistic. Basically girls were meant to cook, clean and provide for the men. Though my father, being the more laid-back type, was never one to enforce that rule, my mother thought that was the only way for stability in our household, and no one was to EVER argue with my mother. So the girls are meant to keep quiet while the boys go and do the big things. We live a very private life and no one was to breach that.
I have two brothers. My older brother, Zeke, was accepted into Harvard his Junior year of high school. He is a very big deal in our family. My youngest brother, Christian, is the captain of the varsity football team at his high school, when he is only in tenth grade. Another big deal in my family. And then there is me.
My government name is Morgan Miles. I have two brothers and happily married parents. I live a very wealthy lifestyle, my life is perfect.
My name is Kat Stewart. And tomorrow, shit's about to get real.
