Hey everyone this is a story I'm making I haven't done much only the first chapter. This story is going to have vampires in it. Please tell me what you think of it, I want to see what people think of my writing.

Chapter One

I stepped out of the door and onto the front verandah, going out to the mail box as the postman had only came five minutes ago. As I was just at the mail box my mum pulled up in the drive way.

"Hey Mum." I said to her.

"Hey Tess!" She came over and hugged me. It was one of those really long hugs. And I knew why. My sister Cotton had gone missing a year ago today, and we were all hurting, wanting her to be back here, with us even though half the time she just sat in her room on her phone being a typical teenager. But she was still the best sister you could have asked for.

"How are you feeling?" Mum asked me.

"I'm okay, I guess."

She pulled away and went back to the car and opened the boot to get out the shopping that she had got.

I opened the mail box finally to find just one envelope which I opened.

It had written on it:

It has now been one year, and she's still gone hey?

What a shame. You should watch your daughter Tess Mr and Mrs Hunter, she could go missing soon. This isn't a friend either, this is the man who took your daughter Cotton.

I threw the letter on the ground and bursted into tears.

Mum came rushing over to me and pulled me close to her.

"I know, I know your missing her. You have me here now, I'm not going anywhere for the rest of the night, your dad will be home soon."

"No!" I said, almost screaming it at mum. I didn't mean it rudely, I was just afraid and wanting this all to be gone.

"What is it then?" She asked me.

I pointed to the letter. Not wanting to touch it or look at the horrible letter again. I want to burn it, but I know we'll need it as evidence to show the police.

Mum picked up the paper and started reading it. When she was done the shock of it all was starting to hit her too, her hand covered her mouth and her eyes were starting to get watery.

Mum called the police and explained what was written on the note, they discussed the possibilities that the person who sent this may not be the actual person who took my sister. That it could just be some messed up person trying to upset us. But maybe that's just what we wanted to wish, that no one took her, and that she's safe. But that can't have happened, my sister was 16 when she went missing and she was happy with her life. So she can't have run away.

I heard a car pull up in the drive way. Must be my dad.

I just went to my room, mum could explain everything to him. It was messing with my head enough as it was to talk about it again.

I grabbed the photo frame I had in my room with a photo of Cotton and I and laid down on my bed and just stared at it, tears pouring down my face. Wanting to scream. Wanting to go out and find my sister. Wait, that's what I'll do!

I was planning it all in my head, when I could sneak out without my parents catching me, I'd have to ride my bike everywhere but I'll manage. Luckily I have eight hundred dollars saved up from baby sitting the next door neighbors kids for a few months. I'll need it to find a motel to stay at. I had no idea where I'd start looking, but I'll figure that out when I leave.

Dad came stood in the door way and knocked on my door.

"You wanna talk about what's happened?" He asked me.

"No, I'll be okay. I just want to forget it ever happened. I just want my sister back."

"I know you do, we all want her back. But unfortunately wishing for her back isn't going to do anything, we'll just have to leave it with the police."

"But the police aren't doing anything!" I yelled at him. Not meaning to be rude but it just frustrated me.

"Of course they are Tess, they're looking for clues everyday."

"Can't we go looking for her ourselves?" I said. Wondering what he'd say, seeing as I've already planned to go try and go find her anyway.

"No, there's no use." He said.

Well, he won't like my plan. Which I won't be telling him or my mum about.

"Anyway, what would you like for dinner? Your mother said that she'd make anything for us. Maybe to try and make us all feel better."

"I'm not hungry." I replied. And I wasn't. But then I remembered my plan, I wasn't going to be buying expensive meals when I ran away to go find my sister, tonight would be the last night that I'd eat anything proper. The police would be searching everywhere for me too once my parents knew I was gone, so I'd have to be careful. I know it sounds stupid and reckless, a girl at the age of 15 running away to try and find her missing sister that could be in another country! But I had to try.

"But, I know I better eat. So just tell mum that I'll eat anything." I said.
