"Ouch!"

"Sorry."

"Can you please at least watch where you're going?"

"Not my fault. You're the one who insists on not using your witchcraft in the dark,"

"I've already used my power to find his location, I ain't going to waste any more energy to 'guide your way'. Yes, I was the one who contacted your well known secret society for assistance after learning his origin. How the hell would I know they would send someone...like you?"

"What do you mean?"

"You don't talk, you don't do anything or offer input, not so much as your name...Thor? Are you having a laugh? What kind of name is that? Let me remind you once again - it is, after all, your responsibility."

"I said four - agent Four as in number not Thor. And FYI, the brat escaped from our headquarter knowing this is our busiest night of the year and I was the only one left other than Magistra. But now it's my responsibility?"

"Well, you said it yourself, you're the only one who knew he has a tendency to do that on this particular night, so technically, it is your fault."

He let out a frustrated sigh as we continued to walk in a gingerly pace towards the isolated and decrepit manor house situated at the edge of the town surrounded by woods.

"But you're the one who admitted knowing the area,"

"That's because this is my neighbourhood and your escapee is causing havoc. There are kids trick or treating everywhere tonight and lucky for them not have noticed the difference between make up and real, but bad for him for me to have sensed his presence and aura if it wasn't for my power."

"All the more reason for me to let you take the lead then."

"We'll see how you're going to write your report when you go back,"

"That will be for me to decide and for you to wonder."

"Whatever...here we are."

We both came to a halt as I pushed open the wrought iron gate that was hanging by a single hinge, sending a squeaky sound across the overgrown garden as I stepped on the weed-infested grass with him trailing behind closely.

As we came near the front of the disused house, seeing one of the large wooden double doors was left ajar so I entered swiftly as my senses heightened the further I walk along, compelled by the smell of dead and decayed hitting our nostrils. Agent Four whispered next to me: "Come on, do something,"

"Like what?"

"Some light will suffice...for now."

I shook my head in disbelief. With a wave of my hand, the room lit up instantly, showing a large cobweb covered hall with old dusty upturned furniture and a huge staircase laid out at the far end. As I carried on moving and checking the area, his hand shot up and grabbed hold of my shoulder when a screech sounded from upstairs.

We both rushed to the source in unison and ran up the stairs, taking two at a time to reach the second level as more scream was heard.

Despite my previous experience, my heart skipped a beat when I saw his partly missing, badly decomposed head. When he saw us looking at him, his ashen face broke into a smile which made it just that much more eerie as he showed his rotten black teeth. But before I could react, he turned around immediately and went into the room nearby.

"Quick, don't let him get away." I shouted.

By the time I got hold of him, I looked around the room and saw a half conscious little girl on the floor who had blood dripping from her body from multiple wounds.

"Come here, you brat." Agent Four said after strings of profanities as I went to pick up the girl, thinking to repair the damage the second we left the place.

"But I want my treat, too." The boy grinned.

*Apologies to the real agent #4 for any inaccurate interpretation. Happy Halloween.*
