Prompt: Britt or Anna wakes up with a cold or something and the other one sticks by their side.

Anna's POV

"Come on Babe, you need to wake up. You have an hour to get ready and get to work." I call softly, stroking my wife's hair as I lay beside her in our bed.

"MmmmmmmmIcan'tgo." She mumbles back without opening her eyes.

"Baby, you have too. I'll still be here when you get home. I don't start filming until next week." When I don't get a reply, I decide to check Brittany's forehead.

"You're really burning up. Are you feeling okay?" I ask her.

"Mmmno. I ache all over. It hurts." As she finally speaks a full, albeit short sentence, she cuddles her head into my chest.

"It's okay, don't worry. You stay here, I'll be back up in a second, okay?" Feeling a nod against my chest, I gently lift my girl's head slightly and place it down on my pillow.

As I reach our kitchen down stairs, I pick up our house phone and dial a number.

'Hello?'

.....

'Yes, I'm Anna, Brittany's-'

....

'Oh, right. No, you see I'm calling because I think she may have the flu. She's aching all over and sounds a little sniffly.'

.....

'Would that be okay?'

......

'Thank you so much. She'll be back in as soon as she's feeling better. I'll also text in each day so that you know whether she is up to working. I'm so sorry if this has affected your shooting time for the film.'

......

'Brilliant, thank you. Bye.'

Ending the phone call, I make my way back up the stairs to my gorgeous wife.

"I'm back Beautiful."

"Cuddle me. I'm cold." My girl murmurs.

"Of course. Listen, I called in for you. They were very understanding and said that they will just try and work at a fast pace when you're back in." I smile, getting under the duvet in bed to snuggle with her.

"Thank you Babe, I love you."

"Don't be daft, it was a part of my vowels. You know, 'in sickness and in health.' That is why I'm going to look after you and help you get better. Starting with breakfast."

"I'm not hungry." Brittany mumbles into my neck.

"No, you need to eat. I need to pop to the corner shop to get some milk but I'll be as quick as I can. I love you."

"I love you too." I feel her smile which immediately makes me feel a little better. There is nothing I hate more than seeing my wife sad and poorly.

Thankfully, as the shop is literally down the end of our road, I was home within 10 minutes.

Knowing that Britt likes her favourite things around her when she's feeling low, I prepare a bowl of fruit loop cereal. She always tells me that the colourfulness makes her happy. Adding milk to the bowl and placing a spoon on the tray with the bowl, I then pick up the red rose that I brought her from the shop. I also place that on the tray next to a 'get well soon' teddy bear.

"Babe, your breakfast is ready, come on." The smile that instantly graces her face makes my heart warm. I'm so lucky to have her.

"Thank you so much. You didn't have to do that. But I love you even more for it." I hold her tray for her as she places the rose on the bedside table and the teddy bear in the middle of our bed.

"You're more than welcome Gorgeous. I love you. Now, eat up your fruit loops so we can snuggle."

We did just that for the rest of our day. Brittany's head rested on my chest as we watched movies on Netflix for the day. My arms were securely wrapped around her and we drifted in and out of sleep. These are my favourite kind of days.
