Morning are the hardest for someone who lost her mother. Waking to a quite, empty house, not a single voice to be heard.
As a habit I go to my moms room. She always wakes up early, it's unusual for her to be sleeping at this hour. Her bed's made, everything is in place, it's like when she goes to work which is impossible right now because she doesn't work on the weekends, not to mention she is dead.
I close her rooms door with a pit in my stomach and go downstairs to kitchen, hoping she will be there even though I know she won't.
TONY'S P. O. V.
We -Team Avengers- were in an aircraft and I was videochatting with Agent Hill.
"Tony did you get the item."
"Yes, Maria I got the ITEM" i said putting air quotes on the word 'item' and continued "Are you going to tell us what this bad boy does? " I said irritated because I knew the answer.
"Mr. Stark that is classified information."
"It's not classified information if I risked my ass to get this stupid--"
I was cut off by Steve "we" stopped for a second and than said "and language please."
"What"
"We risked ourselves."
I gave him an understanding nod. "Fine. WE risked it."
Maria was as irritated as I was. "Mr. Stark your orders are clear. We are waiting for you at the base. "
I sat down in pilot chair. "Screw it. If you dont tell it, I" with Banner's cough I corrected myself. "We will give it to you when we figure out what it does." What is their problem with 'we'?
"Tony I strongly suggest you-" the screen was black.
"What kind of sorcery just happened" Thor said turning around himself which made him look like a dog chasing his tail.
"Show yourself wizard"
"Calm down Thor. It was me." I said proud of myself.
"Why Stark" asked Captain.
"Because like he said we are going to figure out what this device does. " replied Bruce for me.
"It's great to have someone who has brain besides me on this aircraft. " I said. All of them grumbled at me except Banner who was proud of himself.
Natasha who was watching all this quietly was the one to talk. "You know this is S. H. I. E. L. D aircraft right? They can find our place and track us down."
"Natasha I am not you. Remember I am the genius of the team." as I saw how Banner looked at me I corrected what I said. "Bruce and I are the geniuses of the team. "
"Back to the subject" said Cap being serious as always.
"I broke the signal from the base and hid us from radars."
"Great but it doesn't change the fact they'll come after us."
"We'll hide for a while. We are the freaking Avengers. You in or not?"
"After a little pause Captain spoke up. "I got no plans tonight."
"Never run from a good fight" said Natasha.
"I got my crassbow. What's the worst that can happen" said Clint.
"My human friends need me. Indeed I am in!" exclaimed Thor.
"I can't sleep at nights without knowing what it does." said Bruce.
"So what's next' asked Steve.
"I know a place we can crush till we figure out this bad boy." I said holding the item-box in my hand.
