Chapter 4

I really didn't feel like writing this today. I was feeling super lazy and also had a bad headache but it was better than starting homework.

It was a few months after we started dating and Masamune's birthday was coming soon. I decided to do something special for him since it was his first birthday since we started going out. I asked him on our first date what kind of music he liked.

Ah, that first date. I'll never forget how badly we messed that up. It was awkwardly silent until we ordered so I kept on asking him a bunch of questions to keep away the silence. "I really enjoy listening to all kinds of music, but I find Lana Del Rey to be pretty good." He answered.

I didn't expect that. Anyway, since he likes Lana Del Rey, I decided to bring him to a concert on his birthday since she had a concert nearby on Christmas Eve. It didn't seem like a bad idea at the time, but I soon wished I wouldn't have asked that question... But let's not get into that yet.

So on his birthday, I left a small gift bag on his desk. In it was the tickets for the concert. I remember Kisa making some stupid remark on how we were "so lovey-dovey" or something. So I sat at my desk and started working. When Masamune walked in, I began to feel nervous but just kept on acting like nothing happened. I watched him open it from the corner of my eye but looked back at my work before I could see the look on his face. All of a sudden I felt him hug me from behind and he kissed my head. "Thank you so much Ritsu. I love it... But not as much as I love you." He said. I blushed really hard and I was really happy he liked it. "I... I love you too."

It was only a half day at work since it was Christmas Eve so Masamune and I left the building to go to lunch. He suggested lunch but I was already one step ahead. I made plans at a restaurant the day before.

After we were done eating, it was almost time to go the concert. So after we left the restaurant, we walked to our apartment building and got in his car. I felt kind of bad that he was the one who drove there since it was his birthday. But I didn't have a car of my own.

He seemed to have a really good time there. Before it started, I bought him a Lana Del Ret shirt. He sang along to all of the songs even though they were in English. I didn't know he could speak it so fluently. I could understand some of the words but I enjoyed it too because of the sound of it. Even though I couldn't understand it very well, I still thought her voice was nice.

On the drive back to the apartment building I was thinking. "I wonder if I can sing as good as them... I mean, every one of my friends always said I was good. And so did my family. An really likes my voice too and she loves when I sing solo at family karaoke during the holidays. Maybe I should give it a try... Yeah. I want to become a singer."
