I hadn't seen him all day.
For some reason, I couldn't get him off my mind. Everything I see, everything I hear, all that I touch, taste, and think, bring me back to his eyes. And his voice. And his hands brushing strands of hair away from my face.
I longed to kiss him. A free kiss with no curse.
I was going insane. It was hard for me to focus. I had spilt tea all over Maura, and had knocked over Orla's castle of cards (which caused me to run to my room to avoid her anger).
I went over to Monmouth Manufacturing to find him, but no one was home. Including Noah.
So I went back home and sat in a daze on my bed.

Around seven thirty, or so, Calla called me downstairs. With a slow exhale, I pushed myself off my mattress and stumbled down the staircase.

"What do you want, Calla?" I asked, leaning on the wall. She pointed toward the door without looking at me.
"Your snake's outside. He says he needs you."
I stared at the door as if a beast was standing behind it, patiently awaiting it's prey.
Which was, in a way, true.
I pulled the door open cautiously.
Ronan handed me a card decorated with blue ribbon, and written in dark, blue ink, was Gansey's ridiculous nickname for me, "Jane."
I gave Ronan a puzzled look.
He motioned to the card.
"Just read it."
I carefully slipped the ribbon off the card and read the inside.
"Jane,
'By tomorrow, we'll be swimming with the fishes,
And leave our troubles in the sand...'
I've heard that the sunset tonight is supposed to be one of the most beautiful one in decades.
I've also heard that it's even more spectacular when on a beach.
Would you care to join me?

  Sincerely,
    Gansey."

I turned away as a blush crept onto my face and I attempted to end my growing grin.
I failed.
"Hey, stop your smiling and get in the car, alright?" Ronan led me to The Pig.

When we arrived at the nearest beach, the sky had morphed into a shade of lilac and the sun, preparing to disappear behind the far end of the waters.
I followed Ronan until I made out the figures in the distance.
Adam stood, in a ridiculously fancy suit, bent over laughing, while Noah hit him on the shoulder pouting in my direction.
"Oh *giggles* sorry...let me just *giggle* catch my breath *giggles*," Adam spoke.
Ronan rolled his eyes, but I saw a faint smile on his lips.
Noah took over.
"Good evening, Blue. How are you?" He giggled, "Heehee, that rhymed!"
"I'm well, thank you," I answered. "But...what's going on here?"
Adam grinned and looked behind him.
"Gansey's waiting over there," he pointed to the table and figure just by the shore.
"You're kidding," I whispered to myself. Noah escorted me to the candle-lit table.
My heart beat quickened once my eyes met Gansey's. Those eyes...I had been seeing them all day...
"Hello, Jane," he spoke with a gentle smile. "God, you look...beautiful."
I rolled my eyes and slid onto the chair that dug into the sand.
"I didn't even change. I've been wearing this all day." I pointed out.
He grinned, yet again.
"Ah, but you are beautiful no matter what you wear," he held my hand. All I could feel were the tingles in my skin.

We talked until the lilac sky became a blended easel of vibrant pinks and violets and vivid blues and indigos.
We laid down in the sand, hands entwined, my heads resting on his shoulder, his head gingerly pressed on the top of mine. We watched the sun fall behind the dark blue waves. I felt whole. I felt safe. And most importantly, I felt free.

I hope I would feel like this tomorrow and every day after.
